TeamNUS Lifesaving just had their 38th National Lifesaving Championship' 15 (open water) at Sentosa Palawan Beach, which ended off with a team dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant :D

That said, aside from competitive Lifesaving, we also offer courses on basic water safety. Ever wondered how you can help a drowning person? NUS Lifesaving offers courses to teach you just that ;) Don't worry if you're not a strong swimmer though. You have one semester and patient coaches to guide you along. No worries ;)

Come down for our Welcome Tea on 24th August for more details! There'll be food and fun, and it's FREE :D Drag your friends along too and we'll see you there!

NUS Lifesaving was part of an SG50 event alongside other aquatic sports like Diving, Synchro Swimming, and the National Men's Water Polo Team.
We shared about water safety as well as introduced the competitive aspect of lifesaving (something that's more well-known in Australia, but is growing in Singapore!) along with artistes Kui Jien and Kelly Latimer :)

Also, NUS Lifesaving was among the 500 student swimmers who came together to set the record for Largest Floating Singapore Flag for SG50 event Youth Celebrate! at the Singapore Sports Hub's OCBC Aquatic Centre :)

NOT A STRONG SWIMMER? FRET NOT!

One can be a strong swimmer but a weak lifesaver. Lifesaving is more than just swimming wink emoticon It's also about techniques and skills. Check back for more updates on what "more than just swimming" entails!

DID YOU KNOW, there's a competitive scene to lifesaving? If you already have your LS123 and BM certs, do consider joining competitive lifesaving :)

This Saturday and Sunday (15th & 16th August), we will be having our Nationals! TeamNUS Lifesaving will be competing against NTU, SIM, SP, NYP, TP and many more! It will be an Open Water Competition at Palawan beach, Sentosa ;)

One of our events is board paddling (see picture below)!
Other than that, we also surf, fin, and run! Lifesaving is more than just swimming wink emoticon
