🪷 Happy Vesak Day! 🪷

Today, we join our Buddhist residents and friends in commemorating Vesak Day, a significant day marking the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Buddha.

Vesak Day reminds us of the timeless values of compassion, wisdom, gratitude, and service to others. These principles continue to inspire us to care for our neighbours, strengthen community bonds, and contribute positively to society.

As we celebrate this special day, may it bring peace, joy, and blessings to you and your family, and everyone in the Eng Kong and Cheng Soon community!

Wishing all who celebrate a meaningful and serene Vesak Day. 🕊️

🐾 What an incredible evening at our Pets Pawty 2026!🐶🐱

Co-organised by the Eng Kong & Cheng Soon RN and Toh Yi Residents’ Network, we were thrilled to welcome more than 200 residents, families, and furry friends to the Toh Yi Badminton Court last Saturday for a fun-filled community celebration of pets and neighbourly spirit. ❤️

There were a wide range of activities throughout the evening for both humans and pets, including:
✨ Interactive booths by our neighbourhood businesses
✨ Fun pet activities organised by the Bukit Timah Youth Network
✨ An adorable Best Dressed Competition featuring some truly paw-some outfits
✨ A lively Paw Parade around the Toh Yi estate, bringing smiles to residents all around the neighbourhood 🐾

A big thank you to all residents, volunteers, youths, partners, and pet owners who made the event such a wonderful success. Most importantly, thank you to our four-legged guests for bringing so much joy and energy to the community! 🐕🐈

We look forward to seeing everyone again at our future Eng Kong, Cheng Soon, and Toh Yi community events!

♻️ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲

A big thank you to residents who joined us at this morning's Plastic Trashure collection drive at the Eng Kong Garden Playground! 🌱

Together, we collected recyclables made up of:
🔹 Type 2 Plastics (HDPE)
🔹 Type 5 Plastics (PP)

From detergent bottles and shampoo containers to takeaway containers and plastic caps, every clean item contributed helps reduce waste and gives plastics a new lease of life.

It was great seeing neighbours of all ages coming together for a common cause, proving once again that small community actions can create meaningful environmental impact. Thank you for doing your part and helping us turn “trash” into “trashure”! ♻️✨

🌸 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗱𝘀! 🌿

It was a bright and breezy Saturday morning as our neighbors and friends from Eng Kong, Cheng Soon, and Toh Tuck gathered at our community garden for a fully subscribed orchid workshop led by our in-house gardener, Joseph Yeo. Joseph was also a former judge with the Orchid Society of South East Asia!

Participants picked up practical tips on orchid care—from watering and sunlight to maintenance—making the session both relaxing and informative.

The morning ended with a lovely stroll through the garden, where residents admired a beautiful display of orchids and ornamental plants.

A truly enriching and blooming good time for all!

🔥 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: 𝗔 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗞𝗖𝗦 🔥

A safe community starts with everyday habits at home. As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our Eng Kong and Cheng Soon residents safe, we have worked with agencies to come up with some key fire safety reminders for everyone:

✅ Avoid overloading electrical sockets and unattended charging
✅ Always supervise cooking and open flames
✅ Use appliances with the SAFETY Mark and certified PMDs (UL2272)
✅ Dispose of ci******es and lighted materials responsibly
✅ Keep corridors, escape routes, and fire safety equipment accessible
✅ Use designated eco incense burners for offerings

These simple actions go a long way in preventing fires and ensuring safe evacuation in emergencies.

Let’s all play a part in keeping EKCS a safe place for all!

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿

The evolving Middle East situation may impact global energy prices and supply chains. While there is no cause for alarm, it’s timely for us to stay prepared and support one another.

Let’s stay calm, prepared, and united as an EKCS community!
