That’s the kind of space Pär Hellstadius and Chris McGee will create during our next Advanced Leadership course.

Pär, our Head of Learning Development, brings more than 15 years of experience across HR, leadership and organisational change. Chris, Learning Developer at Hyper Island, has worked with leaders and teams across the world - from technology and finance to public affairs and NGOs.

Over three immersive days, they’ll create a space where experienced leaders can be open, challenge themselves and learn with, and from, one another.

Big news from Stockholm: next Monday, 17 August, we’ll welcome more than 150 students to our new campus at DN-Skrapan! 🏡

After a summer of moving, our new home is ready, and so are we, for the YH students about to begin their Hyper Island journey.

Developed together with MOD, the new campus is designed to be much more than a functional workplace. It’s a space for learning, collaboration and community, with spacious conference rooms, smaller rooms for teamwork, a light-filled kitchen and lunch area, and even a ping-pong table for those “highly strategic study breaks” 🏓

But this move represents more than a change of address. By bringing our YH programmes, executive learning and business transformation work together under one roof, we’re creating better conditions for our whole community to learn, connect and work side by side.

We’re proud to celebrate an important milestone for our collaborative project with Ukraine 🇺🇦🇸🇪

Building on the first edition last year, REGAIN 2.0 has scaled to support 60 Ukrainian public-sector employees across two cohorts. The programme is part of Sweden’s wider support for Ukraine’s reform, recovery and future integration into the European Union.

Together with .campus and .org.ua, Hyper Island developed and delivered a 12-week hybrid leadership programme. Built around the needs and challenges identified with our Ukrainian partners, it focused on leadership, trust, collaboration, communication and leading through change.

After ten weeks of online training using Hyper Island’s tools and methods, the first cohort of 30 participants travelled to Stockholm for a week of in-person learning. They also built connections and exchanged experiences with their counterparts in Sweden, including , , and Sveriges Kommuner och Regioner.

We’re proud of what this cohort has achieved and grateful to everyone who contributed. Next year, another 30 Ukrainian public-sector employees will take part, so there is much more to come.

“It opens up a new side of you that you didn’t know was there before.”

As a Marketing Director and a mother of three, Kristín Gunnarsdóttir needed a Master’s that could fit alongside an already full life.

Throughout the programme, she balanced work, parenting and postgraduate studies without stepping away from any of them. Hyper Island’s flexible, part-time online format kept her learning connected to everyday reality. Each week offered a space that felt both challenging and supportive, before she returned to work ready to test new ideas and question existing ways of thinking.

Although the programme took place primarily online, Kristín never felt alone. One of its greatest gifts was the close-knit international community. People she can imagine meeting for coffee in one year or five and immediately reconnecting through their shared Hyper Island experience.

Frontend development now reaches far beyond traditional websites.

The web can be a space for 3D environments, immersive storytelling, VR experiences, and augmented reality on mobile. As AI makes it faster to turn ideas into working experiences, the possibilities continue to expand.

To ensure our programme evolves with the field, we work closely with people shaping it. For their final module, our Frontend Developer students were guided by Industry Leader Gunnlaugur Egilsson, an XR Developer and Designer and founder of opopolo, a company bringing immersive experiences and storytelling together.

By bringing current industry practice into the classroom, we create space for students to explore where the field is heading and where their skills might take them next.

Nobody throws graduation caps quite like a Hyper Island Master’s crew 🎓🎉

Congratulations to our newest Hyper Island Master’s graduates!

This week, we celebrated our graduates at Teesside University’s (Teesside University) graduation ceremony, marking the completion of a Master’s degree accredited by Teesside University and shaped by Hyper Island’s experience-based methodology.

The celebration also included a special interactive appreciation session, co-facilitated by our Academic Lead Rebecca Taylor, and Hyper Island Master’s alumna Degmo Daar, who continues to demonstrate what’s possible after a Hyper Island Master’s degree.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our trusted partnership team at Teesside University - Daniela Hodgson, Natalie Clark, Dominic Dunn, Andrew Bingham, and Christina Jayne - for their continued support on campus.

Hyper Island x ReDI Denmark 🇸🇪🤝🇩🇰

We recently welcomed our partners from ReDI School of Digital Integration to Stockholm as part of our Erasmus+ project, Volunteer Upskilling to Accelerate Social Impact.

Together, we’re supporting the volunteers who help women build careers in the digital sector, through hands-on training that helps them create stronger learning experiences.

During the visit, we reflected on the work so far, planned upcoming trainings for a new cohort this autumn, and got to show our partners around the area surrounding our Stockholm campus.

A few days of collaboration, learning, and stronger partnerships. 💫
