Upgrade - business strategy game UPGRADE! is a holistic business simulation game for team development and learning intended for companies and trainers.

This absorbing board-game focuses on strategic and tactical planning within the business layer of IT. is a challenging strategic business development game in which each player is managing a small industrial facility with up to five computer systems and one integration system over a 6 year gaming period. Each year comprises three action rounds in which the systems can be upgraded, the number of sys

tem users can be increased, management can be asked for financial commitments, new servers can be added and system performance can be improved. Every year, the server fees are collected and revenue is received for connected users. Two variants provide options for working with virtualisation or cloud hosting.

The separate UPGRADE! game is nearing the end of its redesign. This sets it as quite a distinct game from the trainer edition included in Total-IT. It incorporates a brand new system for calculating the workload before and after tuning. Here's a short animation by way of a teaser...

The main board and player boards have been redesigned for the Total-IT version of the game. Similar changes will be brought to the stand-alone version in the near future.
The Main board has been doubled in size and has spot gloss to lift the graphics. The larger board has enabled extended business value scoring and on-board tile storage. The user scoring on the player board has changed to a single track and cubes are now used to further simplify workload tracking.
All in all it is hoped that these changes will further improve the user experience.

UPGRADE! underwent a redesign in early summer this year. The main goal was simplification. I will be revisiting the game once my work on Stabil-IT is completed as I have introduced some new ideas and graphics that may need to be transferred

The new version of UPGRADE! has now arrived. What a beauty. Game tracking and scoring have been simplified, the graphics have been overhauled and there's more options to explore
