Kõrgema Kunstikooli Pallas tekstiiliosakonna ja mööbliosakonna tudengid esitlevad 4.-8. veebruaril Stockholmi mööblimessil projekti MÕTESTADES BRUNOT / RETHINKING BRUNO, mis on inspireeritud Eesti disainihariduse rajaja Bruno Tombergi loomingust. Disainitiimidena töötanud tudengid tutvustavad messil viit erinevat tootelahendust ning nende variatsioone.
Pallase tudengite ühisväljapanek pakub mitmekülgseid variatsioone, kus toodete valmistamisel on kasutatud traditsioonilisi jätkusuutlikke meetodeid kõrvuti XXI sajandi tehnoloogiliste võimalustega. Projekt on kantud ideest uurida materjali, vormi ja funktsiooni seoseid Bruno Tombergi ikoonilises disainiloomingus.
(Taas)avastades disaini suurkuju loomingut ning analüüsides esemete iseloomu ja loogikat, on Pallase tudengid loonud tooteprototüübid, mis säilitavad uuritavatele toodetele omaseid jooni, kuid loovad sellele ka uue kaasaegse konteksti.
Eesti professionaalse disainihariduse alusepanija Bruno Tomberg oli nii disaini mõtestaja kui uudsete ideede tutvustaja. Iga kahe aasta tagant välja antav temanimeline tootedisaini auhind Bruno on Eesti disainiparemikule väga oluline tunnustus. Et tänavu möödub 100 aastat Bruno Tombergi sünnist, on Pallase väljapanek austusavaldus tema loodule.

Stockholmi mööblimess on oluline mööbli- ja sisekujundustoodete esitlemise sündmus Skandinaavias. Oma väljapanekutega on kohal ka disainikoolid.

Students from the Textile and Furniture Departments of Pallas University of Applied Sciences will present the project MÕTESTADES BRUNOT / RETHINKING BRUNO at the Stockholm Furniture Fair from February 4–8. The project is inspired by the work of Bruno Tomberg, the founder of Estonian design education. The students worked in design teams and are presenting five different product solutions and their variations at the Greenhouse pavilion of the Stockholm Furniture Fair.
The joint exhibition by Pallas students offers a variety of approaches, where traditional sustainable methods are used alongside 21st-century technological possibilities. The project is driven by the idea of exploring the connections between material, form, and function in the iconic design work of Bruno Tomberg. By (re)discovering the work of this design icon and analysing the character and logic of his objects, the students have created product prototypes that retain the defining traits of the objects being studied but introduce a new, contemporary context.
Bruno Tomberg, the founder of Estonia’s professional design education, was both a design thinker and a promoter of innovative ideas. The design award named after him, given every two years, is an important recognition for Estonia's best designers. Since this year marks the 100th anniversary of Bruno Tomberg’s birth, the exhibition is a tribute to his work.

The Stockholm Furniture Fair is an important event for displaying furniture and interior design products in Scandinavia. Design schools also present their exhibitions at the fair.
