We were delighted to welcome the Dog Unit team today, along with several secondary school students, to the Academy for an informative talk on the Financial Crime Investigation Unit (FCIU).

The session provided valuable insight into how the FCIU operates, the types of offences they deal with, the quantities of money seized during investigations, and the security features found on currency. It also highlighted how the Dog Unit plays a crucial role when money is involved during searches.

This knowledge is not limited to finance-related roles alone. in today’s era of modernisation, all service officers benefit from understanding financial crime. The session was truly fruitful, with many questions asked, helping participants gain practical knowledge that will support them in their future duties.

Yesterday marks another powerful step forward in strengthening child protection

We are proud to welcome two French instructors who are leading an intensive formation on “l’audition de mineur” with a dedicated group of in-service officers from different units ,especially the Child Protection Unit, alongside two inspiring ladies from Elles Foundation.

This training goes beyond theory. It is about building practical techniques, empathy, and professionalism to better listen to, protect, and support children in vulnerable situations. Every skill gained here is a step toward safer spaces, stronger investigations, and more child-centered justice.

Together, across institutions and borders, we are investing in knowledge, collaboration, and humanity, because every child deserves to be heard, understood, and protected.

Like every Friday, we challenged a new route for our Friday march and once again, the recruits proved that distance does not matter, but the goal does.

Yesterday, Friday 23rd January 2026, the route march was a great success. Through discipline, resilience, and teamwork, our recruits showed that no matter how tough the journey gets, they keep moving forward with determination and purpose.

We also proudly salute a former police officer who joined us yesterday. His presence and commitment to empowering the new generation of officers is a powerful reminder that the spirit of service never truly ends. 🫡

Step by step, they are not just building endurance but they are building character, unity, and the mindset of the future generation of police officers.

Today, our recruits stand tall against domestic violence.
They say it out loud: “Say no to domestic violence.”

They stand for respect, dignity, and a future free from fear.
We are here for change. We are here to protect, to serve, and to lead with integrity.

These young men and women are not just recruits, they are the future of policing, the future guardians of our communities, and the voice for those who cannot speak.

Together, we say no to domestic violence. Together, we build a safer tomorrow.

Today marks the final day of our Training of Trainers programme, and we conclude this important journey with a powerful message: we say NO to domestic violence.

Over the past days, 20 dedicated officers from various police units, along with an officer from the SLTA Department, have not only strengthened their skills as trainers, but have also reaffirmed their role as protectors, educators, and advocates for a safer society.

On this final day, the trainees were given the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have gained throughout the week, showcasing their ability to communicate effectively, facilitate learning, and lead with confidence.

As trainers, their responsibility goes beyond classrooms and uniforms. They are now equipped to influence attitudes, raise awareness, and stand firmly against all forms of violence, especially domestic violence, which continues to affect too many lives.

Today, we do not just celebrate the end of a course.
we celebrate commitment, leadership, and a shared stand for respect, dignity, and zero tolerance for abuse.

Together, we train.
Together, we lead.
Together, we say NO to domestic violence.

Monday 19th January 2026, The academy begin a powerful journey of Training for Trainers a course that runs from today until Friday, dedicated to shaping those who will shape others.

This week, our classroom brings together 20 officers, including police officers from several units currently in service, joined by one officer from the SLTA Department, all united by a shared purpose: to grow not just as professionals, but as trainers, mentors, and leaders.

Training a trainer is more than transferring knowledge. It is about inspiring confidence, sharpening communication, strengthening leadership, and building the capacity to pass on skills with integrity and purpose. The impact of this course will go far beyond the classroom into units, departments, and future generations of officers.

We commend every participant for stepping forward to invest in themselves and in others. This week is about learning, sharing experiences, and setting a higher standard of training excellence.

The journey starts today.
The responsibility is great.
The impact will be lasting.

Physical exercise is not the only focus at the academy, theory is just as essential.
We train the body, but we also sharpen the mind. Understanding builds confidence, discipline shapes character, and knowledge becomes the foundation of success. When theory and practice move together, goals are no longer dreams !!!!!! they become achievements.

Today, the Seychelles Police Academy officially launched its weekly route march, bringing together not only our students and staff, but also serving police officers from across the Force.

The inaugural march took us from the Police Academy to Montagne Pòse Prison and back, a challenging yet rewarding route that tested endurance, discipline, and unity.

More than just a walk, this was a fruitful journey to strengthen team spirit, camaraderie, and solidarity within the Force. Marching side by side reminds us that regardless of rank or role, we move forward as one team, with one mission.

Together we build resilience. Together we build unity. 💪👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

On Wednesday 7th January 2026, the Seychelles Police Academy warmly welcomed a group of children from the President’s Village for a five-day stay. an experience filled with learning, discovery, and inspiration.

A carefully designed programme was prepared for their visit, and today marked a truly special moment as the children toured several key units of the Seychelles Police Force, including the Marine Police, POTRU, the Dog Unit, the SSCRB and with a traffic officer on motorcycle.Through these visits, they gained valuable insight into how the police force functions and the vital role it plays in protecting our nation.

At the Academy, as a disciplined institution, the children were encouraged to give their very best, not only within our walls, but also in their lives ahead, where the future awaits them with endless possibilities. Despite their young age, their curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm were truly inspiring. Many expressed a strong desire to one day join the Force, a reflection of the positive impact of today’s experience.

Seeing such young boys and girls inspired, motivated, and full of hope reminds us why mentorship, guidance, and exposure matter. The seeds of discipline, service, and commitment are being planted early.
