📖On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

"Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day speak good, or keep silent; and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his neighbour; and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his guest."

📖On the authority of Abdullah Ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

"It is not permissible to spill the blood of a Muslim except in three [instances]: the married person who commits adultery, a life for a life, and the one who forsakes his religion and separates from the community."

🛑Friends influence one another with regard to attitude and manners, and the one with the stronger character will have a greater impact on the one with the weaker character. Therefore Islam urges us to keep company with righteous people, and warns against keeping company with evil people.

It was narrated from Abu Musa al-Ash`ari (ra) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The likeness of a good companion and a bad companion is that of one who carries musk and one who works the bellows. With the carrier of musk, either he will give you some or you will buy some from him, or you will notice a good smell from him; as for the one who works the bellows, either he will burn your clothes or you will notice a bad smell from him.” [Narrated by al-Bukhari, 5534; Muslim, 2628].

Al-Qadi `Iyyad (ra) said: This indicates that one should avoid mixing with bad people and avoid sitting with evil people, innovators and backbiters, because all of these people will have an influence on the one who mixes with them. And Islam urges us to mix with righteous people and acquire knowledge, good manners, good attitudes and praiseworthy characteristics from them.

الأصحاب يؤثر بعضهم في أخلاق بعض، والقوي يسحب الضعيف إلى طباعه، فلهذا حث الشرع على ملازمة صحبة أهل التقوى وحذر من صحبة أهل السوء.

عن أَبِي مُوسَى الأشعري رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : ( مَثَلُ الجَلِيسِ الصَّالِحِ وَالسَّوْءِ، كَحَامِلِ المِسْكِ وَنَافِخِ الكِيرِ، فَحَامِلُ المِسْكِ : إِمَّا أَنْ يُحْذِيَكَ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تَبْتَاعَ مِنْهُ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تَجِدَ مِنْهُ رِيحًا طَيِّبَةً، وَنَافِخُ الكِيرِ : إِمَّا أَنْ يَحْرِقَ ثِيَابَكَ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تَجِدَ رِيحًا خَبِيثَةً ) رواه البخاري (5534) ومسلم (2628) .

قال القاضي عياض رحمه الله تعالى: " فيه تجنب خلطاء السوء ومجالسة الأشرار وأهل البدع والمغتابين للناس؛ لأن جميع هؤلاء ينفذ أثرهم إلى جليسهم، والحض على مجالسة أهل الخير وتلقى العلم والأدب، وحسن الهدى والأخلاق الحميدة " انتهى من " اكمال المعلم" (8 / 108).

✅The role of a true (rabbani) scholar is to devote his life to spreading what he has of knowledge that Allah has enabled him to acquire, and teach what he knows to the people, take care of them, educate them and reform their attitude on the basis of that.

In addition to that, and perhaps more importantly than that, his role is to set an example of how to put the knowledge that Allah has enabled him to acquire into practice, to the extent that the people will see in him a real-life embodiment of the knowledge that they are learning.

🛑What did Ibn Kathir (ra) say about Bidah (innovation in Islam)?

✅Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Ahl As-Sunnah wal-Jama‘ah consider any action or word that is not proven from the Companions to be an innovation (Bid`ah), because if it were something good, they would have done it before us. They did not omit any good attribute but they hastened to do it or attain it.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 7/278-279)

قال الحافظ ابن كثير رحمه الله: " أهل السنة والجماعة يقولون في كل فعل وقول لم يثبت عن الصحابة: هو بدعة؛ لأنه لو كان خيرا لسبقونا إليه، لأنهم لم يتركوا خصلة من خصال الخير إلا وقد بادروا إليها. " انتهى من "تفسير ابن كثير".

🛑Regarding Musical Instruments:

“Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (ra) said: The view of the four Imams is that all kinds of musical instruments are haram. It was reported in Sahih al-Bukhari and elsewhere that the Prophet (ﷺ) said that there would be among his ummah those who would allow zina, silk, alcohol and musical instruments, and he said that they would be transformed into monkeys and pigs… None of the followers of the imams mentioned any dispute concerning the matter of music. (al-Majmu’, 11/576).

قال شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية رحمه الله : " مذهب الأئمة الأربعة أن آلات اللهو كلها حرام ، ثبت في صحيح البخاري وغيره أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أخبر أنه سيكون من أمته من يستحل الحر والحرير والخمر والمعازف ، وذكر أنهم يمسخون قردة وخنازير ، .. ولم يذكر أحد من أتباع الأئمة في آلات اللهو نزاعا" (المجموع 11/576) ”

🛑Do you wish to increase your provisions (rizq)? There are some means of increasing rizq that are prescribed in Islam. These include:

𝟏) 𝐈𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐟𝐚𝐫 (𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬): Allah, may He be exalted, says: “I said (to them): Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance; And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.” [Nuh 71:10-12]

𝟐) 𝐔𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: Al-Bukhari (2067) and Muslim (2557) narrated from Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever would like his provision to be increased and his life to be extended , should uphold the ties of kinship.” An-Nawawi said: “The term ‘His provision to be increased’ means to be expanded and made abundant or, it was said, to be blessed (Barakah).”

𝟑) 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: Allah, may He be Exalted, says: “Say: Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allah’s Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers.” [Saba’ 34:39]

Muslim (2588) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” An-Nawawi said: “The scholars mentioned two meanings of this Hadith, one of which is that (the wealth) will be blessed (as a result of giving charity ) and harm will be warded off from it, so the apparent decrease will be compensated for by means of hidden blessing. This is something that is well known from experience. The second is that even if it appears to be decreased outwardly, there will be compensation for that in the reward that result from it, and it will be increased manifold.”

𝟒) 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐢𝐦: Allah, may He be exalted, says: “And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.” [At-Talaq 65:2-3]

𝟓) 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐣𝐣 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧, following one with the other: At-Tirmidhi (810) narrated that Abdullah ibn Masud said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Make the Hajj and `Umrah follow each other closely, for they remove poverty and sins as the bellows removes the dross of iron, gold and silver, and an accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.” (It was classed as authentic by Al-Albani)

𝟔) 𝐃𝐮𝐚 (𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧): It was narrated by Ibn Majah (925) from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say, after he said the Salam at the end of Fajr prayer: “Allahumma inni as’aluka `ilman nafi`an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa `amalan mutaqabbalan (O Allah, I ask you for beneficial knowledge, good (lawful) provision, and accepted good deeds).” (Classed as authentic by Al-Albani in Sahih Ibn Majah)
