THE GOD, THE GOOD, AND THE GOODNESS

The Master of Worlds, upon His high throne,
Speaks a vast truth that is His alone:
"Goodness is My strength, My limitless might,
The anchor of justice, the dawn of The Light."
He governs the stars and the endless domain,
Through the power of Goodness, He chooses to reign.

"The Good are My angels," the Sovereign decrees,
"Who traverse the heavens and over the seas.
The hardworking guardians of the lowest night,
Unseen and devoted, formed purely of light."
They carry His will to the edges of space,
The tireless hands of His mercy and grace.

And Goodness itself, though brilliant and grand,
Trembles and falls at the Master's command.
It whispers in awe where the seraphim trod:
"I am scared of the Majesty of the One True God."
For even pure virtue, so holy and deep,
Knows of the reckoning the Almighty will keep.

For nothing is arrogant, nothing stands tall,
Before the Great Artist, the Lord of it all.
The Strength of The God, the angels who soar,
And The Goodness that fears Him and bows evermore.

**THE GREATEST WELCOME FOR THE KING OF ALL KINGS**

O King of all kings,
O Lord of all greatness,
O Most High above every height,
O Most Near beyond every nearness,
O Most Perfect beyond every perfection,
O Most Pure beyond every purity

To You belongs the finest of all welcomes,
the greatest among the great,
the noblest among the noble,
the highest among the high,
the humblest among the lowly,
the longest among the long,
and the shortest among the brief

Every beautiful word ever spoken,
every sincere praise ever offered,
every pure greeting ever raised,
and every perfect welcome ever imagined.

May all the best from among the best,
all the purest from among the pure,
all the greatest from among the great,
all the most perfect from among the perfect,
and all the most magnificent welcomes
from the beginning of creation until its end

🔍 **The Sunnah of Tashahhud: What Do the Hadiths Actually Say About the Index Finger?**

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh.

When sitting for Tashahhud, most of us were taught to lift our index finger *only* during the words of the Shahadah and lower it immediately after. But what do the primary books of Hadith actually say?

To unite the Ummah, let us return directly to the clear, unadulterated text of the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

1️⃣ THE METHOD OF THE PROPHET ﷺ: Continuous Action

In the most authentic, primary narrations, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is described as keeping his finger raised and pointing from the **very beginning** of the sitting, using it continuously for his entire supplication (Du'a) to ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH).

* 📖 **Sahih Muslim (580b):** *"When the Messenger of ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) (ﷺ) sat for Tashahhud... he formed a ring... and pointed with his index finger."*
* 📖 **Sunan an-Nasa'i (1268 - Sahih):** *"...then he raised his finger and I saw him moving it, making supplication with it."*

**The Fact:** The literal texts describe a continuous action. The finger remains up throughout the entire sitting because the entire Tashahhud is inherently a prayer and a supplication to ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH).

2️⃣ THE METHOD OF THE SCHOLARS: Later Deductions

There is **not a single Verse or explicit Hadith** in the primary collections that commands: *"Raise your finger only at the Shahadah and lower it immediately after."*

This specific timing is a **scholarly deduction (Ijtihad)**. Later jurists reasoned that since pointing symbolizes *Tawheed* (the oneness of ALLAAH SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH), the physical gesture should verbally match the declaration of faith (*"La ilaha illa-ALLAAH [SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH]"*). While these scholars had great spiritual intentions, this timing is a humanly derived opinion—it is **not** a direct command from the Prophet ﷺ.

💡 The Ultimate Basis for Unity: Return to the Text

Scholarly opinions and interpretations are where the Muslim Ummah becomes divided into different methodologies. The pure, literal text of the Sunnah is where we find absolute agreement and true unity.

ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) warns us in the Holy Qur'aan against placing any opinion or practice above the divine text (Sahih International Translation):

> 📖 **"O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] ahead of ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) and His Messenger but fear ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH). Indeed, ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) is Hearing and Knowing."** (Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:1)

Furthermore, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explicitly commanded us:

> 📖 **"Pray as you have seen me pray."** (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 631)

If your goal is to follow this divine hierarchy precisely and look at the prayer exactly as described by the Companions who watched the Prophet ﷺ pray, the authentic texts point to keeping the finger raised for the **entire duration** of the Tashahhud sitting.

As Imam al-Shafi'i famously stated: *"If a Hadith is authentic, then that is my Madhhab (school of thought)."*

Let us prioritize the clear, pristine text of the Sunnah over later human interpretations.

**STAY WITH THE PURE TEXT: UNITY IS IN THE SUNNAH OF ALLAAH'S (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) MESSENGER ﷺ.**

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ (سُبْحَانَهُ رَبُّ الْعِزَّة)

**Translation:**
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of ALLAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH), and His blessings.
*(SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH - Glorified is HE SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH, Lord of Honor)*

**سورة الأنعام (6:159)**

**Arabic Verse:**
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعًا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ ۚ إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ

**Translation:**
Indeed, you (O Prophet ﷺ) are not responsible for those who have divided their religion and become sects. Their matter rests only with ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH), then HE (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) will inform them of what they used to do.

**سورة الحجرات (49:10)**

**Arabic Verse:**
إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

**Translation:**
The believers are but brothers, so make peace between your brothers and fear ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) so that you may receive mercy.

**(Right Path Verse – Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:103)**

**Arabic:**
وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا

**Translation:**
Hold firmly to the rope of ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) all together and do not become divided.

**OUR MESSAGE (الأُخُوَّة، الإصلاح، الوحدة)**

**Arabic:**
نحن لا ننتمي إلى أي فرق أو طوائف، بل نتبع دين الله(سُبْحَانَهُ رَبُّ الْعِزَّة) كما أنزله. ومع ذلك، فإن واجبنا أن نصلح بين إخواننا ونسعى لإزالة الاختلافات بالحكمة والرحمة.

**Translation:**
We do not affiliate ourselves with any sects or divisions; rather, we follow the religion of ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) as HE (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) revealed it. At the same time, it is our duty to reconcile between our brothers and strive to resolve differences with wisdom and mercy.

**Bottom Line:**
اختلاف الآراء لا يفسد للود قضية، فلنجعل الكتاب والسنة منهجنا، ولنجعل الأخوة والإصلاح طريقنا، والله (سُبْحَانَهُ رَبُّ الْعِزَّة) يهدي من يشاء إلى صراط مستقيم.

**Translation:**
Differences in opinions should not spoil brotherhood. Let us make The Qur’aan and Sunnah our way, and let brotherhood and reconciliation be our path. And ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL IZZAH) guides whom He wills to the straight path.

Purpose of creation

أَعـوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْـطانِ الرَّجيـم
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala said:

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِىَ الَّذِينَ أَسٰٓئُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَيَجْزِىَ الَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا بِالْحُسْنَى.
"And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward] -"
(QS. An-Najm: Verse 31)

اور جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے سب خدا ہی کا ہے (اور اس نے خلقت کو) اس لئے (پیدا کیا ہے) کہ جن لوگوں نے برے کام کئے ان کو ان کے اعمال کا (برا) بدلا دے اور جنہوں نے نیکیاں کیں ان کو نیک بدلہ دے

القرآن - سورۃ 53 - النجم - آیت 31

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala said:

مُّحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ أَشِدَّآءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ تَرٰىهُمْ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوٰنًا ۖ سِيمَاهُمْ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ مِّنْ أَثَرِ السُّجُودِ ۚ ذٰلِكَ مَثَلُهُمْ فِى التَّوْرٰىةِ ۚ وَمَثَلُهُمْ فِى الْإِنْجِيلِ كَزَرْعٍ أَخْرَجَ شَطْئَهُۥ فَئَازَرَهُۥ فَاسْتَغْلَظَ فَاسْتَوٰى عَلٰى سُوقِهِۦ يُعْجِبُ الزُّرَّاعَ لِيَغِيظَ بِهِمُ الْكُفَّارَ ۗ وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنْهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
"Muhammad (S.A.W) is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABUUL EZZA) and [HIS] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. ALLAAH (SUB'HAANAHU RABBUL EZZA) has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward."
