Al-Afkar International School 2012-2013 EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY



The Al Afkar Management believes that all young people are of worth and that all young people can learn.

Therefore, it shall be the philosophy of the school division, in partnership with parents and community to:

Provide equal opportunity for all students to achieve maximum intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth;
Assist all students to acquire the knowledge, skills and values to be competent in the world of work;
Assist all students who have the desire and ability to acquir

e the knowledge, skills and values to enter college or other post-secondary schooling;
Assist all students to develop the knowledge, skills and values to function as a citizen;



Further, it shall be the policy of the School Board to:

Provide the necessary trained and dedicated leadership, personnel and equipment, and materials to assure an appropriate education for every student, regardless of race, color, s*x, physical condition, or national origin;
Treat all personnel equally with the highest degree of respect for professional educational rights and abilities;
Administer funds to all schools fairly and equally, regardless of community location;
And give attention to school facilities to assure that the property and quality of equipment of all schools may be upgraded, repaired or increased in order to be rendered comparable to the best schools in the nation and world. The Management

Hello to my coworkers, students, and parents,
This is Ms. Kathleen from the U.S. I had no pre warning but my husband daughter and I had to leave the country. It was very hard for me to leave because I really loved being at AIS. I wish all my students and parents good luck and always stay in touch.
