Come together to share stories and notions of migration as we collectively create a hand-embroidered tablecloth border. Bring along trinkets, swatches or buttons to add to our collaborative creation!

Led by artist Aya Haidar, this free, drop-in workshop is an opportunity for all ages to share and make together as part of Refugee Week and the Great Exhibition Road Festival.

Aya Haidar particpates in 'Etenrally Yours' at Somerset House, London, an exhibition exploring ideas around care, repair and healing.

Showcasing diverse examples of creative reuse, from historical samples of the Japanese art of Kintsugi and Boro, which embrace upcycling and repurposing, to works from contemporary artists who put repair at the heart of their practice, Eternally Yours explores the unexpectedly hopeful and healing stories that repair reveals. In light of the recent global pandemic, the exhibition seeks to unpack how ‘repair’ can guide both our individual and collective healing.

تشارك آية حيدر في معرض "لك إلى الأبد" في بيت سومرست ، لندن ، وهو معرض معني بالبحث في مفاهيم الرعاية والإصلاح والتعافي.

من خلال عرض أمثلة متنوعة لإعادة الاستخدام الإبداعي ، بدءًا من العينات التاريخية لأساليب الفن الياباني "كينستوجي" ( أو الترميم بالذهب) وأسلوب "بورو" (أو ما هو مُرمم) و ، والتي تتبنى إعادة التدوير وإعادة الاستخدام، إلى أعمال الفنانين المعاصرين الذين وضعوا الإصلاح في قلب ممارستهم ، يستكشف معرض "لك إلى الأبد" القصص المفعمة بالأمل والتعافي بشكل غير متوقع والتي يكشفها الإصلاح. في ضوء الوباء العالمي الأخير ، يسعى المعرض إلى بحث كيف يمكن أن يوجه "الإصلاح" كلاً من التعافي الفردي والجماعي.

ATHR Gallery is pleased to announce the participation of Saudi artist, Muhannad Shono at Art Basel, Parcours, with a solo presentation of his latest work, ‘A Song of Silence’

In his latest work, ‘A Song of Silence’, Shono continues his investigations of the drawn line and its potential for creation and destruction. The work expands on his earlier work, The Teaching Tree, presented at the 59th Venice Biennale, re-configuring the organically formed structure made of palm fronds painted in black, and drawing inspiration from the destiny of the archangel Israfel who must play the trumpet that will annihilate all existence. The enigmatic form embodies Shono’s investigation of the drawn line and its potential for creation and destruction. Through this, he explores ideas of resilience and regeneration, both in the natural world and within human imagination. Shono’s practice counters the limits of singular narratives, instead questioning truths, ontologies, and the basic concepts underpinning human life.

‏‎يسر جاليري أثر الإعلان عن مشاركة الفنان السعودي مهند شونو في معرض "آرت بازل"، "باركورز"، بمعرض فردي، لأحدث أعماله "أغنية الصمت".

‏‎في أحدث أعماله ، "أغنية الصمت"، يواصل شونو بحثه في الخط المرسوم وإمكانياته في التكوين والتدمير. يبني العمل على عمله السابق، "منطق الشجر"، الذي عُرض في بينالي البندقية التاسع والخمسين، حيث أعاد تشكيل الهيكل العضوي المصنوع من سعف النخيل المطلي باللون الأسود، واستلهم من تكليف الملاك إسرافيل الموكل بالنفخ في البوق، والذي سينهي الوجود معلنا يوم القيامة. يجسد الشكل المبهم بحث شونو للخط المرسوم وإمكانياته في التكوين والتدمير. من خلال هذا، يتطرق إلى أفكار التعافي والصمود والقدرة على التجدد، في كل من العالم الطبيعي وداخل الخيال البشري. تقاوم ممارسة شونو حدود الروايات الأحادية، وبدلاً من ذلك تساءل الحقائق ومعطيات الوجود والمفاهيم الأساسية التي تقوم عليها الحياة البشرية.

ATHR Gallery is pleased to announce the participation of Saudi artist, Ahaad Alamoudi at Art Basel with a solo presentation of her latest series, Keep It Up, People. The Night Is Young!

‘Keep it up People. The Night is Young’ is a multi-media exhibition of works by Ahaad Alamoudi that explore the precarity of our contemporary times, as statis, through the language of the globally observed sport: football. The presentation appropriates the game’s visual imagery as the ultimate art object, organic and sculptural, wrestling with its sustained flow of reach to the masses as site for critical intervention. Drawn from a, ‘keepie uppie’, a recognized maneuver in the sport, in which the player juggles a football without allowing it to hit the ground, the work center’s the ball’s motion in flight as allegory to demonstrate the incessant flux we exit in.

‏‎"استمروا أيها الناس، مازال الليل يافعا" هو معرض أعمال متعددة الوسائط للفنانة عهد العمودي تسلط فيه الضوء على تقلب عصرنا الحالي تحت عدسة متباطئة من خلال لغة الرياضة العالمية, كرة القدم. يصور المعرض عناصر اللعبة البصرية كتكوين فني تركيبي عضوي مطلق, و يواصل جنوحه المستمر ليصل للجماهير. مأخوذة من "التكتكة" وهي حركة شهيرة من مهارات كرة القدم حيث يتم التلاعب بالكرة بمحاولة الحفاظ عليها من السقوط أرضا, وبتحليق الكرة في الهواء استعارة بالتعبير عن التغيير المستمر الذي نعيشه بحيث ان جميع الجهود للثبات وهمية.

WORLDBUILDING: Gaming and Art in the Digital Age

Basma Felemban participates in a group exhibition, WORLDBUILDING: Gaming and Art in the Digital Age opens in Düsseldorf this June.

Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the JSC, the exhibition
examines the relationship between gaming and time-based media art. Existing as well as newly commissioned works in the collection provide an archeological view of the past, demonstrating the recent development in digitalized image-making.
