Why Yekaterinburg? Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Ural Region and the 4th largest city in Russia, is situated on the border of Europe and Asia. In Yekaterinburg you will find majestic architectural buildings, museums, dozens of universities, modern and classic theaters and opera house, huge trade and business centers. The city preserves an important historical value: the last Russian Emperor Nicolas II was executed here and the first president of Russia started his political path. The city is surrounded by gorgeous Ural forests and lakes, where the program participants will enjoy Russian BBQ and horse riding. Russian language program structure:
The program is delivered by the specialists of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Ural Federal University, one of the largest and top-ranked universities in Russia. The Department was established in 1975 and has successfully trained over 2000 students from all over the world. Language course:
• Russian language levels: Level 2 (basic), Level 3 (intermediate), Level 4 (advanced).
• Russian Business & Culture studies include English-delivered lectures from acknowledged business practitioners as well as scholars. Students will also enjoy field-trips to some of the largest industrial plants of the Ural region. Program of cultural activities:
Scavenger hunt; visits to museums; contemporary theater or circus; excursion to the Europe-Asia divide; the Russian village and horse-back riding; trip to the Russian banya and restaurant of Russian, Ukrainian or Central Asian cuisine. Internship:
Internship opportunities are available if students apply strictly before deadline. Upon internship completion, all students receive reference letters. Internship entrance requirements: CV, statement of purpose. Offered internship fields: IT-development, hotel & tourism, marketing/media, external economic activity, education. Fees cover:
• Russian language program including Certificate of Completion from the Ural Federal University.
• Discussion club & field-study courses
• Accommodation: Student dormitory (shared room & conveniences, self-catered). Note: Students might request shared/single apartments or hostfamily accommodation for an extra charge.
• Cultural activities
• Internship placement
• Transfers from/to Yekaterinburg airport
• Visa invitations and temporary registration (visa fee and courier service fee not included)
• Emergency medical insurance ($8000 USD coverage)
• All-public transport pass (40 trips)
