has the future. It is this direction of new technologies that has long ceased to be abstract and has become useful in many areas of activity. So, for example, in medicine 3D-bioprinters are actively developing, engineers print mini-models of their devices, which allow to make corrections at development stages. This area is developing very rapidly. Today, children master these technologies much faster and more successfully. Their level allows them to participate in such olympiads as International Science Games.
Young people will be competing in 2 directions: technical and artistic. The main difference between these two directions is that the technical direction needs to be carried out in two stages. The artistic direction also has 2 stages: the first is modeling for speed on a free topic, the second is the ex*****on of a task for a given technical task. Thus, participants will have to perform a number of tasks, where they need to develop and create a ready-made 3D model based on a technical task and sketch of an intended device. For example, drawings of parts of a hand mixer are given: gears, corners; a sketch of an object’s prospective design. It is necessary to develop a model ready for 3D printing to assemble a prototype, print out its details
Teams consisting of two pupils in each take part in competitions. The team that scored the maximum total score on the basis of participation in both directions wins. The main criterion for evaluating the task will be considered the possibility of further 3D printing of the finished model. The team result is taken into account when calculating points for obtaining the Big Cup of International Science Games.
Mr. Igor IVANOV, member of the organizational group of 3D modeling competitions, teacher of additional education atYoung Yakutians Republic’s Resource Center:
"It is enough to have spatial thinking in 3D-modeling, to understand how three-dimensional space differs from the two-dimensional one. Some people can cope with this task easily, some people do not. But sooner or later, anyone can master these skills. Another question is what tools you use for this. There are many 3D modeling programs that are both difficult and simple to learn".
International Science Games carry a mission to develop international cooperation for introduction of the best experience of gifted pedagogy in educational systems of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). For this reason, the main goal of the Games is to create and develop a site for gifted and highly motivated students engaged in scientific research since early years who are keen on achievements of science, technologies for self-realization and development.
