If we were to write a review of our school play, it would look like this:
The production of Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic black comedy by American playwright Joseph Kesselring, known for its witty plot and vivid characters. In our school theatreโs performance, it gained new colors, acquiring a special warmth and liveliness.
Our director, Mr. Youngford, did an excellent job of preserving the atmosphere of a light and slightly mysterious comedy. Special attention was given to the expressiveness of the acting, which is especially important in a play with elements of comedic horror. The young actors successfully conveyed their characters, from the kind and cozy old ladies to the more eerie yet humorous figures.
Special recognition goes to the actresses portraying the grandmothers โ their facial expressions, intonation, and charisma made the characters not only recognizable but truly alive. The boys and girls in smaller roles also performed well, contributing to the feeling of a living, breathing theatre.
The set design and costumes were created with great attention to detail, helping the audience immerse themselves in the atmosphere of an old house filled with charm and a touch of mystery. Soft lighting and simple yet stylish props enhanced the overall effect of the production.
We are eagerly looking forward to the next performances by our theatre!
Special thanks to Mr. Young for the incredible photographs.

Earlier this month we have completed another round of MAP testing ๐ก MAP stands for โMeasure of Academic Progressโ, and these tests do just that. Students receive a score which measures general knowledge, but they also receive a score which measures growth since the last testing cycle. When teachers review MAP scores, they are also provided with key academic targets for each student. This allows them to tailor instruction to student needs ๐
