How do you feel about Russian «Ы» sound?
Often the Russian vowel «Ы» is one of the hardest Russian letters for native English speakers to pronounce. This is because Ы simply has no equivalent in the English language.
Letter « Ы» is one of 10 vowels that exist in Russian alphabet but the tricky thing is it’s the only vowel which you can’t use to start a word.
Note: many beginners sometimes confuse ы with ь. Pay attention, the ы has a separately standing vertical line at the end which no other Russian letter has.
Try to read these examples and share your experience in the comments below, it may help others too!
* коты
* дым
* мыло

3 Great Russian Musicians in 2020 That You Will Love
⠀
Listening to your favorite artists is a really powerful tool in learning a language.
⠀
Here’s a list of musicians for those who want to fall in love with Russian songs and lyrics
⠀
1. Leningrad ( The most provocative Russian band of all time. Its leader, Sergey Shnurov (writer of almost all their songs), sarcastically depicts modern values: money, power, office work, addiction to selfies, etc. Warning!
⠀
2. Zemfira ( Zemfira is not just a band’s name, but also the actual name of its leader. I would say her genre is a soft or ballad-style rock. She is a very brave and uncompromising woman, who often challenges common public opinions.
⠀
3. Viktor Tsoi ( I must introduce you to rock icon Viktor Tsoi. He was the lead singer and songwriter of the revolutionary post-punk band Кино (Kino, or Cinema), which rose to popularity in the 1980s. Tragically, Viktor Tsoi died in a car accident at the age of 28—but his music and persona continue to influence Russian rock. Walls of graffiti are devoted to remembering Tsoi, and he lives on in the slogan “Цой жив!” (“Tsoi lives!”). His music is still popular for new generations of musicians, and you might hear it played in the streets of a Russian city.)

What’s the most important thing? - Your talent, luck or practice?
⠀
10.000! That amount of hours is a must if you want to master your skills in any area of your life.
⠀
Canadian journalist Malcolm Gladwell and a bunch of sociologists in a field of expertise research have sat down and tried to figure out how long do you have to work at something before you become really good at it?
⠀
And the answer seems to be extraordinary in incredible numbers of fields - you need 10.000hours of PRACTICE before you become really good. It can be anything from chess to study hardest languages or professional sport career.
⠀
I do agree with that. Professionalism comes with consistent work and practice step by step.
⠀
If you want to improve, master your skills at anything, studying Russian and etc. you really have to pay attention to work you do every day towards your dream.
⠀
Talent exist! But without consistent practice - talent is nothing. No one talented person haven’t become a master without practice.
⠀
I'd also added other criteria for success such as motivation, conscious approach, faith in yourself and rest.
