In this book, there are units divided by topics. So if you need to work on some specific topic, just look at the contents and find the subsection that contains what you would like to work on. If you are going to work on your grammar seriously, you should open a book and start studying from the beginning.

Readers love this book because of its accuracy and simplicity. Topics are explained in very simple words, even the most difficult aspects of the language.

I personally love English Grammar In Use because of its easy way of explanation and combination of theory and practice. At the end of a book, you will find an answer key to check yourself (actually depends on the version so try to find with keys).
At the end of every topic, there are even exercises for you to work on to prove what you have learned.
If this writing and teaching style works well for you, there are even additional books by the same author that can help with vocabulary and other parts of the language.

Therefore, English Grammar In Use by Raymond Murphy is the best grammar book for me and I hope you will use and love it as well!

How I learned 500+ words in Spanish and started my first 100 of Chinese

I'm very keen on learning languages effectively and fast. And today I would like to tell you about 1 very useful tool of learning new words. For sure some of you know about it. MEMRISE.

I found this resource quite helpful for my studying. However there are some disadvantages as well.
+ "Spaced repetition" is main method of Memrise. Firstly you study a word and remember it. Then in 3-4 hours you repeat this word. Afterwards in a day, and in 4 days. These circles let you know this word no only in short-term memory but also in long-term! It's number 1 rule for me in learning languages. I repeat all words all the time. Even with preschoolers I use this method and it works perfectly.
+ I just adore their way of "elaborate encoding". Thanks to it we don't have to just DRILL word 100 times till you learn it. It gives associations and your process of learning turns to fun easy way
- Sometimes there are no associations (( And you have to drill it. Or make an association by yourself.
- Wrong meaning of vocabulary. From time to time there is some meanings of words which just wrong. I saw it in Chinese, Spanish and Russian. Kinda big minus.

But even though there are disadvantages of using Memrise.com I'm in love with their website and for me this is the best service for learning new words. Highly recommend it.

3) The dictionary core
Linguists have proven that list of few words covers the most in any language. For example, in English a set of the 2000 most frequent words of 80% in the text. In Pimsleur courses each level contains approximately 500 words.

I am now learning 2nd course in Spanish at Pimsleur method. And Im very happy. Training for me i easy, quickly and I enjoy it. I can already hold a conversation with native speakers using new phrases. And I know how to ask ¿Cómo se dice ...? by heart! Very useful :)

Course on the Pimsleur method.

On this Audiocourses people from all over the world studying different languages. The most popular audio-based course (I checked it for myself!!!) is very effective.

You can learn English, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Italian, Greek, Korean, Japanese, Arabic and many others. However, they are explained in English, but high level of English is not required, especially for the first lessons.

What is so special in this method is and why it's so popular around the world?

Dr. Pimsleur Method consists of 4 principles:

1) Anticipation
Usually we are asked to repeat after the speaker or lecturer. Pimsleur developed the technique of "call and response", where the student firstly independently translates the phrase, and only after own version Doc gives the answer. This is an active learning, firstly you need to think, answer and then to know the right answer.

2) Rrepetition
it is a method of repetition of words studied at increasing intervals. For example, if a student wants to learn the word deux (two in french.), he repeats it a few seconds for the first time at the beginning, then a second time in a few minutes, then a few hours later, and then a few days later. Thanks to this new words are driven into long-term memory.
