📣 Astronomers take the first close-up picture of a star outside our galaxy!
Located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, one of the small galaxies that orbit the Milky Way, this dying star was imaged with ESO's Very Large Telescope Interferometer.
It is roughly 2000 times larger than our Sun and is puffing out gas and dust, in the last stages before it becomes a supernova.
