🌑 The word “equinox” in Latin means “equal night.” In many cultures, this time of year has been tied to letting go, cleansing and planting - let the old energy melt away so that new energy can have place to grow. 🌞 Here’s a little nugget of new energy from today’s photo-walk! 📷🌱

New Year’s Eve for dog owners can also mean that at 00.00 on the first day of the year will eventually find you locked somewhere home where no fireworks can be heard 😅 That can also feel a bit sad ( because yes, we just looove to gaze at those lights popping up in the sky, don’t we? 🎇 )
But with a 📷 and the right people next to you - you can turn this in your own way to start the year with less external noise - and hopefully less internal noise from our thoughts as well 🌬️
Grateful to have adopted Mia the doggo from the dog shelter 9 years ago despite her anxious behavior. She is the purest soul I’ll ever have the honor to spend life with and I cherish every moment with her! 🌌
Wishing you a calmer year ahead - as when we find calm inside ourselves, the whole world becomes calmer outside as well. 🤍 May art be your guide this year to achieve that!
Warmest thank you to ALL of you!

Traveling is something we all do at some point. 📷 No matter if you are a professional photographer or not, you can take all my lessons ( after 15+ yrs of constant photography practice) as simple tips for a slower and more sustainable travel experience:
TIP 1: Walk first. Photograph later.
Your brain needs time to orient. Walking without shooting lowers sensory overload and helps your brain understand its new surroundings first. Plus, did you notice that when we shoot everything from the start mindlessly, we usually end up not using those first shots anyway?🤔
TIP 2 One scene. One photo.
Too many choices increase mental fatigue. It happened to me so many times. You can choose to be more selective, as this saves LOADS of time from post-processing and leaves you with much more free storage in the long run! 😉
TIP 3 Take photos instead of buying objects.
Experiences activate memory and emotion more deeply than material things - this creates longer-lasting satisfaction. Just take a photo of that cool souvenir before you buy it and check if tomorrow you still want to buy it so much! 😁
TIP 4 Let some moments pass unrecorded.
Yes, I know it feels radical at first - YET the brain remembers moments much better when it isn’t jumping its attention 3 times per second . Allow yourself to just be and take and THEN take that photograph to express that feeling/first-impression.
🪄I leave here a series of photographs from several photo-walks I took in Mexico City in 2019 while traveling for work.
Let me know which photograph/tip is your favorite!
