Founded in 1919, the Department of English Language and Literature of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca is one of the oldest and most important English departments in Romania. It offers complex undergraduate programmes for students majoring or minoring in English, two postgraduate programmes (British Cultural Studies and Irish Studies), as well as a range of opportunities to pursue doctoral studies.

On Thursday, 21 May 2026, the Faculty of Letters at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca will host its Open Day.
