1ST INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL SEMINAR IN LAW SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED AT THE ASE DOCTORAL SCHOOL OF LAW
We are pleased to announce that on 4 May 2026, the Doctoral School of Law within the Faculty of Law of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies successfully hosted the 1st International Doctoral Seminar in Law, in an excellent academic atmosphere marked by highly valuable scientific dialogue, comparative perspectives, and active engagement between doctoral students and researchers.
We express our special gratitude to Professor Marieta Safta, doctoral supervisor within the ASE Doctoral School of Law, for the excellent organization and coordination of this academic event.
The seminar had the honour of welcoming as special guest Bernard Nicholas Singarimbun – Doctoral Candidate in Law at the University of Hamburg and Executive Secretary for the Indonesian Chapter of ICON•S – International Society of Public Law.

Cu profundă tristețe am aflat despre trecerea în neființă a domnului Constantin Duvac, o personalitate marcantă a lumii juridice și academice din România.
Domnia sa a fost mai mult decât un profesor. A fost un formator de conștiințe, un model de rigoare intelectuală și un reper de claritate și profunzime în gândire și în exprimare. Prin fiecare curs, prin fiecare cuvânt rostit, a lăsat în urmă nu doar cunoștințe, ci și o viziune despre ceea ce înseamnă cu adevărat responsabilitatea profesiei juridice.
Generații întregi de studenți și actuali profesioniști îi datorează nu doar formarea profesională, ci și încrederea de a-și urma drumul. Moștenirea sa va continua să trăiască în fiecare dintre cei pe care i-a inspirat.
Gândurile noastre se îndreaptă către familie, colegi și toți cei care l-au cunoscut și l-au prețuit.

The seminar aims to create an international academic environment encouraging discussion of doctoral research topics and strengthening cooperation between young legal scholars.
INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC DIALOGUE ACROSS FOUR CONTINENTS AT THE 1ST INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP OF DOCTORAL STUDENTS IN LAW
On 24 April 2026, the 1st International Workshop of Doctoral Students in Law “Contemporary Challenges in Comparative Law” was successfully held, bringing together an outstanding international community of young researchers in comparative legal studies.
The event was organized by the Doctoral School of Law within the Faculty of Law of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, in academic partnership with the European Law and Governance School, Italy and Charles University in Prague, confirming the strong commitment of these institutions to fostering excellence in doctoral research and international scholarly cooperation.
The workshop benefited from the valuable keynote contributions of:
- Jakub Handrlica, Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic
- Marijana Mladenov, Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary, University Business Academy in Novi Sad, Serbia.
The event took place in a distinguished academic atmosphere and gathered doctoral students in law from four continents: Europe (Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, North Macedonia, Cyprus), Asia (Turkey, Vietnam), Africa (Uganda, South Africa), and South America (Brazil).
We extend our sincere gratitude to the keynote speakers, moderators, and doctoral participants for their valuable scientific contributions, intellectual engagement, and the high level of academic dialogue that defined this first edition.
