A strong workplace safety culture is built on visible leadership commitment, open communication, and active employee participation. When safety is embraced as a core organizational value rather than merely a compliance requirement, organizations benefit from fewer accidents, higher morale, and greater overall productivity.

I hope this message finds you well. In line with the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) contractual requirements established in our previous Gulf region projects, I would like to emphasize the ongoing efforts and protocols supporting the implementation of the Safety Task Analysis Risk Reduction Talk (STARRT) card across our site operations.

As part of our strong commitment to safety, the Front-Line Supervisor (FLS) is responsible for directly conducting the STARRT process, with continuous support and guidance from the HSE team. Prior to each shift, we reinforce safe work practices with the FLS and ensure that the STARRT is delivered in full compliance with the STARRT card template requirements.

Our site coordination includes daily meetings between HSE personnel and the Front-Line Supervisor to conduct the STARRT discussion. These sessions provide an important platform for reviewing safety protocols and identifying potential hazards associated with daily operations. Following each discussion, all documentation is carefully reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Once verified, we sign in the designated area as site representatives of the HSE Manager, reinforcing accountability and demonstrating our continued commitment to a safe working environment.

At the end of each work shift, it is recommended that the supervisor’s routine include a “Post-STARRT meeting.” This meeting should be led by Front-Line Leadership, including the Construction Manager, Superintendent, and Area Supervisors from all disciplines. It serves as an important reminder to Front-Line Supervisors (FLS), foremen, and leadmen regarding the closing requirements for their respective work areas. Key topics should include housekeeping measures to maintain a tidy workspace, equipment securing requirements, and planning for next-day continuity activities. In addition, the meeting should address any need for additional personal protective equipment (PPE) or materials for upcoming tasks, as well as whether new activities require a new work permit application.

Ultimately, the STARRT meeting is designed to strengthen the delivery of safe work guidance and sustain a high level of safety awareness through both qualitative and quantitative measures. This process enhances task readiness and helps ensure that all personnel are informed, aligned, and prepared within their respective work areas.

For everyone’s awareness, please share this update widely to support the task-readiness and safety-awareness campaign across all respective site work areas.
