Our students (and many of us as parents) are under a constant bombardment of distractions. But have we ever really taught our students the skills they need to recognize, manage, and overcome distraction? Do we know how to do that ourselves?
Focus & Flow is designed to help students (of all ages) understand the challenges of the digital world and develop practical tools to improve focus, think more deeply, and become more efficient learners.
This class is not about blaming students for being distracted, it is about helping them understand the world they are navigating and giving them the tools to overcome those distractions.
If your student wants to improve focus but struggles with phones, electronics, games, a messy study space, and/or endless distractions, this course is for them.

Step into the Age of Discovery 🌍⚓
This year, I’m teaching an immersive Age of Discovery course through the Well-Educated Heart Academy (www.wehacademy.org). The course is designed to bring history to life in a meaningful and memorable way.
Classes will be held online on Wednesdays at 10am Mountain Time during the Fall semester.
We’ll follow the Well-Educated Heart rotation:
• September: Journey with Marco Polo into Asia
• October–November: Explore the daring voyages of Portuguese and Spanish explorers
• December: Discover the legacy of Christopher Columbus and Italy’s role in exploration
But we don’t stop at the classroom.
Students will have the opportunity to travel and experience history firsthand—walking aboard replicas of the Niña, Pinta, and Santa María, visiting the resting places of Vasco da Gama and Columbus, and exploring the vibrant cities shaped by these world-changing journeys.
This is more than a history class! It’s an invitation to see, feel, and experience the Age of Discovery.
