“Amar Rokkhok Ami, Ami Anonna” Awareness Program Reaches Over 1,500 Female Students in Savar
Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Bangladesh, in collaboration with Fresh Anonna Sanitary Napkin, a brand of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), has undertaken a special social development initiative aimed at empowering, inspiring, and motivating women and girls.
The initiative focuses on fostering self-development, self-reliance, and awareness of key issues related to women’s health, safety, well-being, and personal growth.
As part of the program, a week-long awareness campaign titled “Amar Rokkhok Ami, Ami Anonna” was organized across 15 schools, colleges, madrasas, and universities in Savar, engaging more than 1,500 female students in interactive sessions on health protection, personal empowerment, and self-development.
During the workshops, Dr. Ipsh*ta conducted sessions on menstrual health and hygiene, addressing common period-related concerns and providing practical guidance for maintaining reproductive health. Participants also received training on social awareness, mental well-being, life skills, personal safety, and self-defense techniques to help them become more confident and resilient in facing everyday challenges. The self-defense sessions were conducted by trained professionals, who demonstrated practical techniques for personal protection and safety.
Speaking at the event, Mehreen, President of Women’s Federation for World Peace Bangladesh and renowned singer, emphasized the importance of empowering girls to become self-reliant and confident.
“Our message was to encourage girls to become independent, capable of protecting themselves, and confident in their abilities. We highlighted the importance of health awareness, hygiene, mental well-being, and personal development. As someone who has been involved in social service for more than three decades, I believe true empowerment comes when a girl is equipped with the knowledge and skills to overcome challenges on her own. If we can help her build the confidence to improve her circumstances and face adversity with courage, then this initiative has fulfilled its purpose.”
At the beginning of each session, participating students received Fresh Anonna Sanitary Napkins, T-shirts, pens, and snacks as complimentary gifts from Fresh Anonna Sanitary Napkin.
Representing Meghna Group of Industries, Israt Jahan, Brand Manager of Fresh Anonna Sanitary Napkin, and Joshua Quiah, Senior Brand Executive, were present throughout the campaign. The program was coordinated and hosted by Sabrina Nowrin Limu, Executive Member of WFWP Bangladesh.
The initiative was supported by GoGirl Events, Pocket Media, and Scout Volunteers, whose contributions helped ensure the successful implementation of the campaign.
The Honorable Member of Parliament for Savar, Mr. Salauddin Babu, attended one of the sessions and inspired participants with his encouraging remarks. Various events were also attended by respected head teachers, principals, senior teachers, social leaders, and cultural personalities from the Savar community.
Through this initiative, Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Bangladesh and Fresh Anonna Sanitary Napkin Brand reaffirm their commitment to promoting women’s health, dignity, confidence, and empowerment, contributing to the development of a more informed, resilient, and self-reliant generation of young women.
