The Beyond NEET 2.0 experience highlights five key lessons:
✔ Build trust before expecting participation.
✔ Give young people real responsibility.
✔ Create interactive and people-centred learning environments.
✔ Help them see the positive impact they can have on others.
✔ Stay flexible and adapt to individual needs.

When young people feel valued, trusted and empowered, they don't just take part they grow, lead and inspire others.

Online meetings keep projects moving.
Face-to-face meetings make partnerships stronger.

During the Beyond NEET 2.0 consortium meeting in Madrid, partners from Portugal, Spain and Ireland exchanged experiences, reflected on challenges and identified new ways to improve the project.

Being together made it easier to understand each other's realities, build trust and develop innovative solutions that benefit young NEETs and older adults alike.

European cooperation is about much more than coordinating activities it's about creating lasting partnerships that turn shared knowledge into real social impact.

🔵 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁.
Beyond NEET 2.0 is about more than delivering activities it is about understanding what really works.

During the consortium meeting in Madrid, partners agreed on the next steps for the project's impact evaluation, which will combine quantitative and qualitative evidence to assess how intergenerational learning and digital inclusion are changing lives.

The partnership will also develop research exploring the social impact of engaging NEET young people and older adults in shared learning experiences.

By collecting evidence and sharing knowledge, Beyond NEET 2.0 aims to inspire future projects, strengthen social inclusion policies and promote innovative practices across Europe.

One of the greatest strengths of Beyond NEET 2.0 is its commitment to continuous improvement.

During the consortium meeting in Madrid, partners from Portugal, Spain and Ireland reflected not only on achievements but also on the lessons learned throughout the project.

They discussed how future initiatives can be even more effective by improving planning, strengthening collaboration between project designers and practitioners, adapting activities to participants' needs and refining training methodologies.

This culture of reflection and shared learning is what makes European cooperation so valuable.

🔵 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱
One of the biggest lessons from Beyond NEET 2.0 is simple: responsibility creates motivation.

Instead of being passive participants, young NEETs became team leaders, digital mentors, presenters and active contributors throughout the project.

This sense of ownership increased their confidence, strengthened their commitment and helped them discover new skills.

Partners also found that informal learning environments, meaningful responsibilities and the opportunity to make a real difference in older adults' lives were key factors in keeping young people engaged.

Beyond NEET 2.0 proves that when young people are trusted, they don't just participate they lead, inspire and create positive change.

🔵 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻.
Beyond NEET 2.0 was designed to improve digital skills, but partners are discovering something even more meaningful.

As young people and older adults meet to learn together, technology becomes a bridge for conversation, trust and friendship.

Many training sessions naturally evolved into moments of sharing life stories, listening to one another and building genuine human connections.

For many older adults, these encounters helped reduce feelings of isolation.

For young participants, they strengthened empathy, communication skills and a deeper sense of social responsibility.

Beyond NEET 2.0 reminds us that digital inclusion is not only about learning to use technology it is about connecting people.

Because sometimes, the most important thing is simply being there for someone else.

🔵 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻.
One of the biggest surprises of Beyond NEET 2.0 has been the enthusiasm shown by older adults for learning new digital skills.

Many participants were already using smartphones to stay connected with their families and were eager to explore new apps, video calls and online services.

Supported by young NEET participants acting as digital mentors, they gained confidence, improved their digital skills and strengthened their social connections.

The project shows that digital inclusion is about much more than technology it is about independence, participation, lifelong learning and building stronger communities through intergenerational cooperation.

When generations learn together, everyone benefits.

🔵𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
In Portugal, 1 in 3 NEET young people registered under Youth Guarantee receives social protection.

But that also means around two-thirds receive no direct support.

Those outside both work and support systems face the highest exclusion risks.

Reaching the invisible must be a priority.
