Exciting News: IELTS has arrived in Almancil! 📢🌍

In partnership with the British Council, Nobel Algarve British International School Almancil is officially a new regular test centre for IELTS—the world’s most recognised English language proficiency test. The next exam is Saturday, 23rd of May.

What an incredible experience at the April CAISL Boys’ Football & Girls’ Basketball competition in Lisbon! ⚽🏀

This year marked a fantastic milestone as, alongside Lagoa, we proudly took SEVEN teams to compete — giving so many of our students the opportunity to experience competitive sport against some of the top international schools across Portugal.

The competitions were hosted across four amazing schools in Lisbon:
📍 St. Julian’s School
📍 Carlucci American International School of Lisbon
📍 TASIS Portugal
📍 King’s College School Cascais

We are so proud of every student who represented the school with determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

⚽ Div 4 Football – 🥉 3rd
⚽ Div 3 Football – 5th

While we didn’t bring home a trophy this time, we’ll be back stronger, more determined, and ready to compete again next year! 💪

🎭✨ This week, our students enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the theatre in Faro to watch the talented Calliope Theatre Company bring stories to life!

From magical fairy tales to classic Shakespeare, there was something for everyone:
📚 Years 1–3 were enchanted by Snow White
🏹 Years 4–6 loved Robin Hood and The Witches Curse
🎭 Years 7–10 explored Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew

The interactive performances kept students fully engaged, with many even getting the chance to dress up and take part on stage — creating memories they won’t forget!

A huge thank you to Calliope Theatre Company for another fantastic experience. We’re already looking forward to next year’s performances! 🌟👏

🌟 Our Year 3 & 4 children recently enjoyed unforgettable camping trips packed with adventure, learning and teamwork! 🏕️✨

From kayaking, swimming and hiking to den building, bug hunts, archery and whittling, the children embraced every activity with enthusiasm while developing valuable life skills and building confidence along the way. 🚣‍♂️🌲🏹

We are incredibly proud of how wonderfully they represented the school with their excellent behaviour, positive attitudes and teamwork throughout the trips. Many are already excitedly planning a return visit during the summer holidays! ☀️👏

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our talented student, Emma Matchullat! 🌟

On May 2nd, Emma competed in the Campeonato Territorial Base de Gimnasia Artística Femenina in Tavira, where she delivered an exceptional performance against strong competition from 3 clubs and 25 gymnasts in her category.

Emma secured 🥇 1st place in THREE categories and was crowned All Around Champion – an incredible accomplishment!

Thanks to her hard work, dedication, and passion, Emma has now qualified for the National Championships. 🇵🇹✨

Congratulations, Emma – we are all cheering you on for Nationals! 💪🎉

Celebrating some incredible progress on the big stage 👏

Both Zeyn and Thea rose to the occasion at the Nationals, delivering standout performances from the red tees and showing just how far dedication can take you.

📉 Thea: 34.7 ➝ 30.8
📉 Zeyn: 25.2 ➝ 20.9

These improvements don’t happen by chance—hours of practice, focus, and resilience are clearly paying off. It’s brilliant to see that hard work translating into confidence and results on the course.
