كلمة الدكتورة ريتا جقمان خلال حفل تكريمها من مجلس أمناء جامعة بيرزيت ومنحها جائزة التميّز والعطاء مدى الحياة.

في كلمتها خلال حفل تكريمها من قبل مجلس أمناء جامعة بيرزيت، استعرضت الدكتورة ريتا جقمان، مؤسسة معهد الصحة العامة والمجتمعية، أبرز محطات وإنجازات المعهد منذ تأسيسه قبل نحو خمسة وأربعين عاماً.

ويأتي منح الدكتورة جقمان جائزة التميّز والعطاء مدى الحياة تقديراً لإسهاماتها الاستثنائية في تطوير الفكر والسياسات الصحية، وأبحاثها الرائدة حول الآثار الصحية والنفسية للاحتلال والحروب والعنف السياسي، إضافة إلى دورها الريادي في تأسيس معهد الصحة العامة والمجتمعية في جامعة بيرزيت، الذي أصبح أحد أبرز المراكز الأكاديمية والبحثية في المنطقة.

ويمثل هذا التكريم احتفاء بإرث علمي وإنساني جعل من البحث والمعرفة أداة للدفاع عن الكرامة الإنسانية وتعزيز صمود المجتمع الفلسطيني.

دراسة جديدة للمعهد تكشف ظروف العمل القاسية التي تواجهها العاملات الزراعيات الفلسطينيات في ظل تغير المناخ.

سلطت دراسة جديدة للمعهد أعدتها كل من ميساء نمر، سوزان متولي وحنين باشا الضوء على التحديات التي تواجهها العاملات الزراعيات الفلسطينيات، اللواتي يتعرضن للإجهاد الحراري المهني وظروف عمل صعبة في الأغوار الفلسطينية، بما في ذلك التعرض المطول لدرجات الحرارة المرتفعة وغياب المرافق الأساسية في أماكن العمل، مما يشكل مخاطر حقيقية على صحتهن.

وتعد هذه الدراسة أول تقييم شامل للإجهاد الحراري المهني بين العاملات الزراعيات الفلسطينيات، وتقدم أدلة تدعم تطوير سياسات الصحة العامة، وتعزيز أنظمة وتشريعات السلامة والصحة المهنية، ودعم جهود التكيف مع تغير المناخ في القطاع الزراعي.

A new study by ICPH reveals the challenging working conditions faced by Palestinian women agricultural workers due to climate change.
A new study, conducted by Maysaa Nimer, Suzan Mitwalli, and Hanin Basha at ICPH, sheds light on the challenges faced by Palestinian women agricultural workers, who are exposed to occupational heat stress and difficult working conditions in the Jordan Valley. These conditions include prolonged exposure to high temperatures and the lack of essential workplace facilities, posing risks to their health.

This study is the first comprehensive assessment of occupational heat stress among Palestinian women agricultural workers. The findings provide important evidence that could help shape public health policies, work regulations, and climate adaptation initiatives in resource-limited agricultural settings.

The Salim Edde Chair in Community and Public Health and the MPH program at Birzeit University Public Lectures Series: Lecture 2!

The Institute of Community and Public Health at Birzeit University has hosted its 2nd public lecture entitled "Public Health Informatics Research: Needs and Opportunities" presented by Dr. Mohammad Bani Odeh, Founder and CEO of HISP MENA. This lecture comes as part of the public lectures’ series organized by the Salim Edde Chair in Community and Public Health and the Master’s Program in Community and Public Health.

The lecture explored the growing role of public health informatics in strengthening health systems and improving population health through the effective use of digital technologies and health information systems. Dr. Bani Odeh highlighted current needs and emerging opportunities in the field, drawing on his extensive experience in health informatics.

تناولت المحاضرة الدور المتنامي للمعلوماتية الصحية في الصحة العامة في تعزيز النظم الصحية وتحسين صحة السكان من خلال الاستخدام الفاعل للتقنيات الرقمية ونظم المعلومات الصحية. كما استعرض الدكتور بني عودة أبرز الاحتياجات الحالية والفرص الواعدة في هذا المجال، مستندًا إلى خبرته الواسعة في المعلوماتية الصحية.

يعلن معهد الصحة العامة والمجتمعية عن فتح باب التسجيل والقبول في برنامج ماجستير الصحة العامة والمجتمعية للفصل الأول من العام الدراسي 2026-2027 .

يقدّم البرنامج للطلبة فرصا مميزة للتعلّم الأكاديمي والبحثي في مجال الصحة العامة، مع إمكانية الاستفادة من منح دراسية جزئية تعاونية بنسبة 30% للطلبة المسجلين من الجهات الشريكة (مبينة في الصور أدناه).

Registration and abstract submission is now open for CID-Conflict 2026!

Join us at the International Conference on Infectious Diseases in Conflict Zones and Humanitarian Settings (ICID-Conflict 2026), hosted by the Institute of Community and Public Health at University | جامعة بيرزيت University in collaboration with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) at the University of Basel.

The conference will bring together researchers, policymakers, humanitarian actors, healthcare professionals, NGOs, UN agencies, and global experts to address infectious disease challenges in conflict-affected and humanitarian settings. A One Health school will follow the conference.
