dziś wjeżdża na tapet słówko, które sprawiło kłopot moim przyszłorocznym maturzystom! Mowa o - discriminate /dɪˈskrɪm.ɪ.neɪt/ -
to treat a person or particular group of people differently, especially in a worse way from the way in which you treat other people, because of their race, gender, sexuality, etc.:
Czasownik discriminate wymaga przyimka against, żeby mieć znaczenie „dyskryminować kogoś”.
Examples:
- The company discriminates against women. – Firma dyskryminuje kobiety.
- You shouldn’t discriminate against anyone. – Nie powinieneś nikogo dyskryminować.
- discriminate between - to be able to see the difference between two things or people:
discriminate between Police dogs can discriminate between the different smells.
Example:
- It’s important to discriminate between facts and opinions. – Ważne jest, by rozróżniać fakty od opinii.
