The child chooses a picture and then tries to spell the word, matching the letter pieces with the spelling of the word shown on the picture card. Once a child gained confidence and experience in spelling words more advanced way may be used. The teacher chooses a picture card, picks it up and reads out the word to students, who should then try and spell the word from memory. Once the have finished building the word, the picture piece can be placed at the end of the word.
