📌 ZNAM or WIEM in Polish? 🤔🇵🇱
Both mean “to know”, but we use them in different ways.
🔶WIEM = knowing information, it’s followed by a 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 like: co, kto, gdzie, jak, jaki, z kim, czego...
👉🏻 Wiem, gdzie mieszkasz.
👉🏻 Wiem, czego nie lubisz.
🔶 ZNAM = knowing people, places, or things, it’s followed by a 𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 (biernik).
👉🏻 Znam sympatyczną nauczycielkę.
👉🏻 Znam ten film.

Grammar tip! Sharing what you carry to school in Polish is super easy. When you want to say what you have with you, just use: MAM + the noun in the Accusative case (Biernik):

👉 Mam ciężki plecak. (I have a heavy backpack.)
👉 Mam niebieski długopis i czysty zeszyt. (I have a blue pen and a clean notebook.)
👉 Zawsze mam ołówek i piórnik w torbie. (I always have a pencil and a pencil case in my bag.)

📌 MIEJSCOWNIK (locative - when to use it in Polish) 🤔🇵🇱

The golden rule of miejscownik is that it NEVER appears alone – it always needs a preposition friend! Here are the 5 most important prepositions and contexts you must know 👇🏻
🔵 W (Inside a place / Time):
👉🏻 Location: Jestem w biurze (in the office 🏢), w domu (at home 🏠)
👉🏻 Time: w styczniu (in January ❄️), w tym roku (this year 📅)

🟢 NA (Open spaces / Events / Transport):
👉🏻 Open space: Jestem na plaży (on the beach 🏖️), na ulicy (on the street 🛣️)
👉🏻 Location: Kubek jest na stole (on the table 🍵), kot jest na dachu (on the roof 🐈‍⬛)

🟠 O (About – thinking and speaking):
👉🏻 Myślę o wakacjach (I'm thinking about vacation 💭)
👉🏻 Rozmawiamy o Polsce (We are talking about Poland 🇵🇱)
👉🏻 Typical verbs: myśleć, rozmawiać, mówić, marzyć, czytać, pisać

🟣 PO (After / Moving around):
👉🏻 Time: po pracy (after work 💼), po lekcji (after the lesson 🏫)
👉🏻 Space: Spaceruję po parku (walking around the park 🌳)

🔴 PRZY (By / Near / Next to):
👉🏻 Stoję przy oknie (I'm standing by the window 🪟)
