Random Polish Dating Antics — Episode 2: Cultural Divide. 🇵🇱😂

One thing I’ve noticed while dating in Poland is that sometimes being emotionally open can be interpreted as being judgmental.

But talking honestly about your past experiences, your triggers, your expectations, your needs and what you want from a relationship isn’t about judging someone.

It’s about understanding yourself well enough to communicate what you need.

And the other person doesn’t have to agree with everything you believe.

Sometimes you simply discover that you want different things — and that’s okay.

Because real connection comes from being able to have those conversations openly, without feeling attacked or judged.

And honestly, a man who has done the therapy, the introspection and the self-work and actually knows what he wants?

In my opinion, that might be even rarer than a unicorn in the modern dating world. 🦄😂

One Thing Poland Has Taught Me About Being A Dad. 🇵🇱❤️

You don’t have to spend a fortune to have a great day with your kid.

A playground.

A walk.

A café.

A bit of food.

Maybe a random adventure you didn’t plan.

And suddenly, you’ve created one of those days they might remember for years.

As a dad, I think it’s very easy to feel like you should always be doing something bigger, better or more exciting.

But sometimes the best moments are the completely ordinary ones.

You don’t need to make childhood complicated.

You just need to be there. ❤️

Every time I walk into TEDi, I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to find.

Skulls wearing tiaras. 👑💀

Clowns that look like they’ve been specifically designed to give your children nightmares. 🤡😂

And crockery that would be absolutely perfect… if only the colour of the bowls actually matched the plates they’re supposed to go with. 😂

It’s basically a treasure trove of weird, wonderful and completely unnecessary things that somehow you suddenly feel you need.

You go in looking for one thing…

And leave wondering why you’ve just bought a decorative skull. 😂

There are worse ways to start the day than sitting in a local Polish café with a plate of jajecznica, a fresh bułka and my boy. ❤️

Simple food, good coffee, good company and a slow start to the day.

I asked Logan if he was enjoying his bułka and eggs…

“Yeah!” 😂

Sometimes it really is the simple things that make a good morning.

One Thing Poland Has Taught Me. 🇵🇱❤️

Sometimes you don’t need to have everything figured out.

You just need to keep moving.

There’s a local grandpa I see riding his bike almost every day.

Rain, sunshine, cold weather… he’s out there.

And when winter comes, he still does it.

There’s something genuinely beautiful about that.

It reminds me that life doesn’t always have to be about achieving the next big thing.

Sometimes it’s simply about getting up, getting outside and continuing to move forward.

Poland has taught me a lot.

And I’m still learning. 🇵🇱❤️

Polish Food Portions. 🇵🇱😂

I’ve lived in Poland for years and I still haven’t learned the most important rule…

When a Polish person asks you, “Are you hungry?”

The correct answer is NEVER yes. 😂

Because you’re not getting lunch.

You’re getting enough food to feed a small army.

You say, “No thanks, I’m not that hungry.”

They hear, “Please bring me another three plates.” 😂

And then comes the classic:

“Eat. Eat. You’re too skinny.”

Mate… I’m 191cm tall. I’m not fu***ng disappearing. 😂

Polish School Run Culture. 🇵🇱😂

Being a single dad in Poland has taught me something…

Polish parents take the school run VERY seriously.

You can turn up looking like you’ve just survived a three-day expedition through the mountains, while another dad is standing there looking like he’s about to attend a fu***ng business meeting. 😂

Meanwhile, I’m just trying to remember whether I actually brushed my hair, where I parked the car and whether the school bag made it out of the house.

Apparently there is an unwritten dress code for the Polish school run.

Nobody gave me the memo. 😂

I’ve been dating in Poland on and off for about three years, and I’ve discovered something I genuinely wasn’t prepared for…

Shared dog custody with your ex. 😂

“We broke up, but we still share the dog.”

Monday with him. Tuesday with her. Weekend handover at 6pm.

Mate… you’ve basically got joint custody of a furry child. 😂

Personally, I think when a relationship ends, you need to make your decisions, part ways and give each other the space to move on and grow as individuals.

Because if I’m spending a romantic weekend with you and suddenly your ex-boyfriend turns up to drop off the fu***ng dog…

I’m going to have questions. 😂

The Polish Women Have Spoken 🇵🇱🇬🇧❤️

Apparently, Polish women know exactly what they want in a man.

Genuine. Loving. Courteous. Funny. Charismatic. Emotionally intelligent. Confident.

And apparently, some of you are even saying, “Forget the dating apps. Just walk up to me in the street.” 👀

Now that’s more like it. 😂

But it got me thinking…

What actually makes you look at a man and think, “There’s something about him”?

Is it the British accent? 🇬🇧
The confidence?
The humour?
The way he treats people?
Being able to survive a Polish family gathering? 😂

Or is it simply being emotionally available, emotionally intelligent… and not being a complete idiot? 😏

I’m genuinely curious.

So, ladies… what makes you notice a man?

Polish People, Why Is Everything Na Chwilę? 🇵🇱😂

I have another question for you…

Why does “na chwilę” apparently mean absolutely fu***ng anything? 😂

“I’ll just be there na chwilę.”

Five minutes? Maybe.

Half an hour? Possibly.

Two hours later? Somehow completely normal. 😂

You ask someone how long they’re going to be…

“Na chwilę.”

Okay… but HOW LONG IS A CHWILA?! 😂

I’ve lived in Poland for years and I still don’t understand this concept of time.

Polish people… please explain yourselves. Is there an actual definition of “na chwilę” that I’ve somehow missed? 👇
