📢 The New Issue is Now Available!
We are pleased to announce the publication of the latest volume of the peer-reviewed scientific journal “Language–Culture–Politics. International Journal” (Vol. 1/2025), issued by the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Relations Państwowa Akademia Nauk Stosowanych w Chełmie.

The new volume continues the interdisciplinary tradition of the journal, presenting research from across the humanities and social sciences. Indexed in international databases such as Index Copernicus, ERIH PLUS, and CEJSH, the journal serves as an important platform for scholarly exchange among researchers from Poland and abroad.

📘 The issue includes three thematic sections and a review section:

🔹 Language
The linguistic section covers topics ranging from translation studies to the analysis of political discourse, including:
– an examination of the Polish translation of Muriel Spark’s The Driver’s Seat,
– a discussion on the genealogical classification of Slavic languages and myths surrounding the so-called Old East Slavic unity,
– an analysis of contemporary Russian “newspeak” as a tool of propaganda,
– an overview of Ronald Reagan’s communication style and rhetoric.

🔹 Culture
The cultural studies section features articles connecting history, pop culture, and regional heritage. Among the topics:
– the influence of major armed conflicts (the American Civil War, World War II) on George Lucas’s Star Wars saga,
– the dramatic history of the Icon of Our Lady of Chełm, presented against centuries of religious and political change.

🔹 Politics
The largest section focuses on political science and international relations, offering analyses of key contemporary challenges:
– methods of political forecasting illustrated with the case of the Russian-Ukrainian war,
– the issue of solidarity in the EU’s asylum policy and the New Pact on Migration and Asylum,
– the role of the European Commission in soil protection policies,
– the effectiveness of sanctions against Russia after the annexation of Crimea,
– the impact of digitalization on foreign direct investment in the agricultural sector.

📖 The issue concludes with a review of a monograph on interpreting works of art in early childhood education.
