There’s so much magic at IBE. ✨ It’s the most beautiful breaking & Hip Hop festival on the planet. 🌍 It brings practitioners & activists from all levels and subgenres together in a way no other event does.
I’ve been invited to countless festivals worldwide, but IBE is different. Even though the schedule keeps changing, nobody knows the full lineup, and sometimes even the DJs & judges don’t know what they’re doing until the moment… we just adapt & flow. Like water. 💧 That’s Hip Hop, and that’s why people keep coming back year after year.
And people do come. I judged over 500 b-boys & b-girls for Undisputed, plus 200+ for Footworkerz. It’s hectic—you’re always running around, wishing you had more time to connect. But in the end, it always works out. It’s a beautiful mess. 🙌
Highlight of the weekend? Definitely the Timeless Titans x Flow Mo Anniversary qualifier battles. Everyone was 35+, and the level of flavour, character, charisma & experience was unmatched. Every battle felt like a conversation—pure joy to watch. 🔥
Other magical moments:
• Late-night storytelling with the crew, hoping to inspire the next gen the same way I was inspired almost 20 years ago by Storm, Wicket & Poe.
• Seeing Poe win a toprock 7-to-smoke.
• Getting called out by Zeshen.
• Sessioning with Jey on a white marble floor. Unreal.
And that session with Jey wasn’t just for fun. I’m on a mission to make footwork trendy again. 🌀 I want to connect you with knowledge not just from me, but from the top footwork heads in the scene. Expect fire content soon from Jey, Intact, Profo Won & Born… and if the hype is real, maybe even a mystery 5th player. 😉 Stay tuned.
