💧 Hands-on Workshop on Water Distribution System Modelling and Analysis Using EPANET

The UNESCO Chair on Knowledge Systems for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, organized a one-day hands-on workshop on September 23, 2026. The session was also accessible online via Microsoft Teams, enabling remote participation.

Dr. Summera Fahmi Khan, Assistant Professor and member of the UNESCO Chair, led the workshop, providing practical training in designing, modelling and analysing water distribution networks using EPANET.

Participants explored hydraulic simulation, including the assessment of flow, pressure, velocity and water demand. The training also focused on evaluating network performance, identifying potential issues and applying hydraulic modelling to support efficient and reliable water supply systems.

Faculty members and students from various institutions and disciplines joined the session, making it a valuable opportunity for practical learning, knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary engagement.

🌍 The workshop reflected the UNESCO Chair’s commitment to building technical capacity and promoting sustainable water resources management through education, research and professional practice.

🔬 Seminar on Digital IC Verification
From RTL Design to Silicon Validation

On 23rd September 2026, the Computer Engineering Department, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, hosted a seminar conducted by Dr. Haroon Waris.

A large number of students and faculty members participated in the session. Dr. Haroon presented the topic in an engaging and accessible manner, offering insights into digital integrated circuit verification and the journey from RTL design to silicon validation.

At the conclusion, Dr. Sajjad Ali Haider presented a commemorative shield to Dr. Haroon Waris as a token of appreciation for sharing his knowledge and expertise.

The Sports Gala Fall 2026 was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal (T.I.), Director Campus, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus. Sports activities will continue throughout the semester, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talent, build friendships, and embrace healthy competition.

Addressing the students, the Director Campus encouraged active participation and emphasized the importance of sports in developing discipline, teamwork, confidence, and physical well-being alongside academic achievement.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal’s encouragement reflects his commitment to the holistic development of students.
