International Webinar on International Day of Mathematics 2026
To celebrate the International Day of Mathematics 2026, the Government Graduate College Vehari in collaboration with COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus organized an International Webinar.
The keynote speaker Dr. Liliana Guran Manciu from Babeș-Bolyai University, Romania delivered an insightful talk on the topic “Why Mathematics? Exploring its power and promise”. She highlighted the importance of Mathematics in understanding the world and solving modern scientific and technological problems.
The webinar was jointly organized by Dr. Muhammad Suhail Aslam Rao (Department of Mathematics, Government Graduate College, Vehari) and Mr. Haider Ali (Department of Mathematics, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Vehari Campus).
On this occasion, Dr. Hafiz M. Asim Zafar , Head of the Department of Mathematics, CUI, Vehari Campus expressed his gratitude and thanked the honorable speaker for delivering a valuable and inspiring lecture.

In continuation of the celebrations of International Day of Mathematics 2026, the Department of Mathematics, Government Graduate College Vehari successfully conducted an Online Quiz Competition to promote mathematical thinking and academic engagement among students.
A large number of students enthusiastically participated in the competition from various institutions including COMSATS University Islamabad Vehari Campus, Bahauddin Zakariya University Vehari Campus, Virtual University of Pakistan, University of Education and Government Graduate College Vehari. The quiz was based on conceptual questions designed to test students’ analytical and mathematical skills.
After careful evaluation of the results, the top positions were secured by the following students:

On March 5, 2026, the Department of Mathematics at COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus, organized the first seminar of the Seminar Series for the Spring 2026 semester. The seminar was delivered by Ms. Bushra Khalid, a PhD Scholar of the department, who presented her research talk titled “Assessing Industrial Environmental Pollution under Intuitionistic Fuzzy Z-Numbers.”
In her presentation, she discussed advanced mathematical techniques for evaluating industrial environmental pollution using the framework of intuitionistic fuzzy Z-numbers. The seminar highlighted how uncertainty and reliability associated with environmental data can be effectively modeled through modern fuzzy mathematical approaches.
The session was attended by faculty members and students of the department, fostering an engaging academic environment and providing an opportunity for discussion on contemporary research developments in applied mathematics and environmental modeling.

• Punjab CM Laptop Scheme Phase-I has now approved CUI, and thus, it is available for COMSATS Students too.
• 1st and 2nd semester students can apply if they haven't got a laptop award before in any government scheme.
