DAY-6 OF ONE-WEEK TRAINING ON LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT WITH FOCUS ON PERSONAL WELLBEING FOR SENIOR CIVIL JUDGES / AALA ILAQA QAZIS
PESHAWAR (July 18, 2026): The "One-Week Training on Leadership & Management with Focus on Personal Wellbeing" reached its successful conclusion today. The final day of this graded program commenced with a specialized session on "Stress Management" led by Brig. Dr. Mowadat Hussain Rana, which provided the 17 participating Senior Civil Judges/Aala Ilaqa Qazis evidence-based techniques for self-regulation and psychological resilience. Following this, the participants underwent a comprehensive Post-Training & Assessment Test, consisting of multiple-choice and problem-solving questions covering all thematic modules taught during the week, in accordance with the KPJA Assessment Policy. DG KPJA presented a souvenir to Brig. Dr. Mowadat Hussain Rana.
The Concluding Ceremony was chaired by the Director General of the Academy, Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, and attended by all Directors of the Academy. In his closing address, the Director General commended the participants for their active engagement and professional conduct throughout the week. He emphasized that the program was designed to equip them with the comprehensive leadership and strategic insight required for their multidimensional roles as adjudicators, administrators, and financial stewards. He expressed confidence that the integration of digital competence, emotional intelligence, and wellbeing practices would significantly enhance institutional performance across the district judiciary. Mr. Mazhar Hussain, Class Representative appreciated the Academy for arranging such valuable training.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates. This initiative, implemented under the framework of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP), reaffirms the Academy's commitment to nurturing judicial leaders who serve the constitution with clarity, compassion, and institutional wisdom. Following the conferment of certificates and a farewell lunch, the participants departed for their respective stations, prepared to implement modern management and leadership principles in their courts.

Day 5: SHARP-Women Programme Concludes with Focus on Advocacy and Leadership
PESHAWAR, July 17, 2026 – The five-day SHARP-Women capacity building programme concluded today at KPJA, marking the successful completion of intensive training for 22 female lawyers. The final day transitioned from technical legal frameworks to practical community leadership and advocacy strategies.
Before the final sessions, the participants reflected on the activities of Day 4, which consisted of institutional exposure visits. These visits included a guided tour of the KP Police Forensic Lab in Hayatabad to observe forensic documentation processes and a visit to a Women Model Police Station to study investigation procedures and GBV response mechanisms firsthand.
The morning of the final day featured sessions on community legal awareness and public speaking. Participants engaged in advocacy role-plays, designing and delivering mock legal-literacy sessions on critical issues such as workplace harassment and women’s property rights. Following these exercises, the lawyers completed a post-training assessment to measure the knowledge gained over the course of the week.
The concluding ceremony was chaired by Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General, KPJA, and attended by all directors of the Academy. Formal speeches were delivered by DG KPJA and Ms. Memoona Batool Khan, the Project Director of SHARP KP, who both commended the participants' commitment to becoming "Women Human Rights Champions". The programme, supported by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, ended with the distribution of certificates and a final group photograph.

The morning sessions were allocated to "Court Administration and Case Management," led by Mr. Khalid Khan Mohmand, District & Sessions Judge. This intensive module covered critical administrative functions including stakeholder engagement, the role of District Level Committees, and effective staff management. Emphasis was placed on diary management, providing participants with strategic tools to optimize court schedules and contribute to efficient case-flow management within the district judiciary.
The afternoon session transitioned to a focus on interpersonal leadership with a discourse on "Effective Communication Skills" led by Dr. Jamal Yousaf, Former Federal Secretary. Recognizing that judicial leadership requires more than legal expertise, this session aimed to strengthen the participants' ability to coordinate and lead teams with clarity and empathy. PESHAWAR (July 16, 2026): The fourth day of the "One-Week Training on Leadership & Management with Focus on Personal Wellbeing" for Senior Civil Judges (SCJs)/ Aala Ilaqa Qazis focused on the integration of cutting-edge technology and transparent administrative practices.
The morning sessions, titled "Organizational Effectiveness-I & II," were led by Dr. Awais Adnan from IMSciences. He introduced the participants to transformative technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), NotebookLM, Agentic AI, and Google Workspace. These sessions emphasized the practical application of AI in judicial management, focusing on how these tools can be utilized for efficient research, documentation, and institutional monitoring while maintaining security and ethical standards.
Following the conceptual lectures, Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, Dean Faculty, led a practical workshop on the "Use of IT in the Justice Sector," providing hands-on exercises to ensure judges can effectively implement digital dashboards and automation tools to improve transparency and case-flow efficiency.
The afternoon shifted to a critical administrative function with a session on "Procurement: Conceptual Framework". This session was led by Mr. Farrukh Bashir Qazi, Director Training at the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), Islamabad. Given the Senior Civil Judges' roles as Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), this training provided essential insights into the regulatory frameworks governing public funds, ensuring that procurement processes in the district judiciary remain merit-based, transparent, and in full compliance with audit procedures.

The academic sessions for the 18 participating Senior Civil Judges/Aala Ilaqa Qazis began with an intensive exploration of Emotional Intelligence and Critical Thinking, led by Mr. Zia ur Rehman from the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad. These sessions provided participants with evidence-based techniques for self-regulation and cultivated the empathy and humility essential for effective judicial service and stress management in high-demand environments.
The latter half of the day transitioned to core administrative competencies required for institutional excellence. Ms. Wadeeya Mushtaq Malik, Director Instructions KPJA, led a detailed session on Performance Management, focusing on the intricacies of performance appraisals and fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth within the district judiciary. The day’s activities concluded with a specialized session on Judicial Record Management led by Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, Dean Faculty. This module emphasized the Senior Civil Judge's multidimensional role as an administrator responsible for maintaining transparency and efficiency in judicial documentation. Collectively, these sessions reinforced the Academy's commitment to nurturing leaders who combine strategic insight with emotional balance.

The third day of the SHARP-Women training at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) focused on survivor-centered representation and justice sector coordination. The 22 female lawyers participated in intensive sessions designed to enhance their understanding of how various departments collaborate to support victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The morning sessions covered the police response to GBV, investigation procedures, and the public prosecution process, emphasizing evidentiary requirements and practical challenges. Participants also explored the judicial perspective on human rights, discussing justice pathways for survivors and how international law can be leveraged within domestic courts.
The training further expanded into modern advocacy and specialized legal fields. Key topics included the role of women lawyers in digital advocacy, professional ethics, and the importance of referral networks. A technical session on the medico-legal framework detailed the processes for evidence collection and the rights and dignity of survivors during medical examinations.
To apply these concepts, the day concluded with a mock court simulation. Organized into teams, participants took on roles as lawyers, prosecutors, and community liaisons to build and present a complex GBV case, receiving expert feedback to refine their courtroom representation and coordination skills.

The second day of the SHARP-Women capacity building programme at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) focused on intensive technical training for 22 female lawyers. Moving beyond orientation, today’s sessions bridged legal theory with survivor-centered practice, emphasizing the specific legal protections and procedural safeguards available to women within the context of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The morning featured two comprehensive technical sessions. Ms. Rukhahanda Naz (Mera Ghar, Noor Education Trust) led an in-depth discussion on GBV dynamics, the FIR process, and domestic legal protections. This was followed by Ms. Namra from Justice Project Pakistan (JPP), who examined international frameworks including CEDAW, SDG 5, and UN Security Council Resolution 1325, highlighting their application in the Pakistani legal system.

PESHAWAR (July 14, 2026): The second day of the "One-Week Training on Leadership & Management with Focus on Personal Wellbeing" for Senior Civil Judges (SCJs)/Aala Ilaqa Qazis emphasized the dual importance of institutional administration and personal health. The day's academic activities were designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to manage both public resources and individual resilience.
The morning commenced with a high-level online session on the "Overview of Public Financial Management" led by Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Ex-Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and Former Federal Secretary. This session was critical for the participating judges in their roles as Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), covering budgeting, expenditure control, and audit compliance to ensure transparency and fiscal responsibility in judicial offices.
In line with the program's unique focus on personal wellbeing, Dr. Zia ud din, Associate Professor at the Department of Human Nutrition, Agriculture University, Peshawar, conducted a session on "Maintaining Health & Nutrition". This module aimed to help participants to develop balanced work and lifestyle practices that promote psychological resilience and professional longevity, addressing the occupational stress inherent in high-demand judicial environments.
The afternoon sessions transitioned back to institutional management, with Mr. Jamal Shah Mahsood, Director Instructions, KPJA, leading a discourse on "Human Resource Management". The session focused on applying merit-based, transparent, and gender-sensitive practices to enhance organizational effectiveness and foster collaboration across district courts. The day concluded with a session on "Time & Energy Management" by Dr. Shahid Ali, Professor at IM Sciences, which provided practical self-management tools to increase productivity and mindfulness.

The Honorable Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court / Chairman of the Board of Governors (BOG) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), Mr. Justice S.M. Attique Shah, chaired the inaugural ceremony of the "One-Week Training on Leadership & Management with Focus on Personal Wellbeing" for Senior Civil Judges/Aala Ilaqa Qazis. In his keynote address, the Honorable Chief Justice emphasized the necessity of judicial assertiveness and strategic insight for judicial officers to effectively manage their multidimensional roles. Earlier, the Director General, KPJA, Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the program's co-designed approach to strengthening judicial leadership and managerial proficiency. The ceremony was attended by all Directors of the Academy, underscoring the institutional importance of this graded training program.
Following the inauguration, the Day-1 academic activities proceeded as per the activity plan. The first session featured a course briefing and an introduction to the Learning Management System (LMS), conducted by Mr. Ahmed Iftikhar, Dean Faculty, and the IT team, to orient the 18 participants on the program's digital and assessment components. Subsequently, Director General Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari led a specialized session on Judicial Assertiveness. The afternoon sessions were conducted by Mr. Farhan Aziz Khawaja, Director General of the Civil Services Academy (CSA) Lahore, who delivered intensive lectures on Judicial Leadership. These sessions covered leadership styles, power dynamics, case-flow management, delay reduction, and resource optimization, aimed at enhancing the organizational effectiveness of the district judiciary. As a token of appreciation, Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), presented a souvenir to Mr. Farhan Aziz Khawaja, Director General of the Civil Services Academy (CSA) Lahore.
