College of Home Economics proudly announces the successful defence of the M.Phil viva voce of Ms. Sana Mehboob, Research Scholar, Department of Food & Nutrition Sciences.

She successfully defended her research under the supervision of Dr. Razia Tariq, co-supervision of Dr. Faizan Ullah, and the esteemed guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Shazia Ghulam Muhammad.

Her research, titled “An Investigation of Physical Health Status in Association with Nutrition Knowledge and Dietary Habits among Students of University of Science and Technology, Bannu,” highlights the gap between nutrition knowledge and healthy dietary practices among university students, providing valuable insights for improving health promotion and nutrition education.

The College extends its heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Sana Mehboob on this significant academic achievement and wishes her continued success in her future endeavors.

College of Home Economics proudly announces the successful defence of the M.Phil viva voce of Ms. Saima, Research Scholar, Department of Food & Nutrition Sciences.

She successfully defended her research under the supervision of Dr. Razia Tariq Khan (CHE), co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Shad, University of Agriculture Peshawar, and the esteemed guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Shazia Shah.

Her research, titled “Evaluation of the Effects of Citrullus colocynthis (Wild Watermelon) on Glycemic Control among Women with Type 2 Diabetes,” explores the therapeutic potential of this traditionally used medicinal plant in improving glycemic control.

The study provides valuable evidence supporting the integration of indigenous knowledge with scientific research, highlighting the potential of locally available natural resources in the management of Type 2 Diabetes.

Under the visionary leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. Shazia Shah, the College of Home Economics continues to foster a vibrant research culture by providing platforms for scholarly excellence, innovation, and impactful research that addresses regional and national public health challenges.

Real-World Design Challenge!
At the BS Interior Design Program, College of Home Economics, University of Peshawar, learning extends far beyond the classroom. From the 2nd semester, students are engaged in real-world design projects that cultivate professionalism, creativity, and industry-ready skills.
In this studio project, supervised by Dr. Rabia Chishti, students transformed a plain gray shell space into a modern marble tiles showroom for Trichmir Marble and Granite Pvt. Ltd., Peshawar. Following a site visit and discussions with the client, they returned to the design studio to develop creative, functional, and client-focused interior design solutions.
At the College of Home Economics, we are committed to providing authentic design experiences that bridge theory with practice and prepare our students to excel in the professional world. Under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Prof. Dr. Shazia Ghulam Muhammad, the College continues to strengthen experiential learning by creating meaningful opportunities for students to engage with real-world professional practice.

The College of Home Economics, University of Peshawar, proudly announces the successful defence of the Ph.D. thesis by Ms. Sumbla Yousaf, Ph.D. Scholar in the Department of Food and Nutrition Sciences.

Thesis Title

“Assessment of quality, ZoonoticPotential and Antibiotic Susceptibility Profile of Esterichia Coli from Raw Milk in PeshawarDivision”

The research was conducted under the esteemed supervision of Prof. Dr. Farhat Shehzad.

The thesis was evaluated by Prof. Dr. Aftab Ali Shah, External Examiner, and Dr. Zahin Anjum, Internal Examiner, whose scholarly insights and valuable recommendations contributed to the successful completion of the defence.

This remarkable academic achievement reflects the scholar’s dedication to research and scholarly excellence while reaffirming the College’s commitment to fostering high-quality research and academic innovation.
