The 12th Meeting of the Senate of Women University Swabi was held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Main Cabinet Board Room, Abdul Wali Khan Block, Civil Secretariat, Peshawar. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Meena Khan Afridi, Honorable Minister for Higher Education, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa/ Chairman of the Senate. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmin, Vice Chancellor; Mr. Tayyab Ur Rehman, Additional Registrar; Mr. Muhammad Qasim, Deputy Treasurer; Mr. Wasif Anis, Deputy Director Audit; Mr. Mohammad Amir, Deputy Director Works; and Mr. Sami Khan, Assistant Director Planning & Development (Women University Swabi). Also in attendance were Mr. Fazal Hussain, Special Secretary (HED); Mr. Farooq Muhammad, Add. Secretary (HED); Dr. Misal, (SO); MS. Talat, Add Secretary Finance; Ms. Zohra, Add. Secretary (HRM); Dr. Faheem Nawaz; and Dr. Rahmanullah, Advisor, Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan, VC, Shangla University along with other distinguished members of the Senate.
During the session, Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmin, Vice Chancellor, Women University Swabi, comprehensively presented the University's Surplus Budget for the Financial Year 2026–27, articulating the institution's strategic priorities, prudent financial management, and long-term vision for sustainable institutional growth. She expressed her profound gratitude to the Honorable Chairman and the esteemed members of the Senate for their unwavering confidence and continued support towards the University's development.
Following detailed deliberations, the Senate unanimously approved the following agenda items:
• Surplus Budget of 731.397 Million (FY 2026-27)
• Annual Report (2025–26)
• Third-Party Audit Report (2024–25)
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Scholarships amounting to Rs. 81.3 million under the Net Hydel Profit Project
The Senate commended Women University Swabi for its remarkable progress in academic excellence, research and innovation, quality assurance, digital transformation, infrastructure development, financial sustainability, industry-academia collaboration, governance reforms, and student development. The members appreciated the University's strategic leadership under Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmin, acknowledging her commitment to institutional excellence, transparency, innovation, and good governance. The Senate recognized the University's continued advancement in expanding academic programmes, strengthening research and quality standards, and implementing transformative initiatives that are enhancing its standing among Pakistan's leading women's universities.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolve to further strengthen Women University Swabi as a progressive institution dedicated to excellence in education, impactful research, innovation, and sustainable national development, while reaffirming the Senate's continued support for the University's future growth and strategic vision.
