Unraveling the CAUSES OF Environmental Degradation, Pollution, Global Warming.
The ED GW has been caused by multi factors. The one is the developmental activities of developed powers of world worldwide, which damaged the environment due to the need of time and survival of people. They unwittingly damaged it in order to meet the growing demand of changing world structure. The European countries embarked upon the novel road to development for the humanity around the world. In their journey, they not only killed millions of people but also perpetually and continuously eroded the foundation of natural ecosystem. Their pursuit ended after the end of world war 11 and unprecedented destruction in Japan with the dropping of atomic bombs. Following the end of ww 11 the new states emerged on the planet earth. The other is development pursued by the newly emerge countries after the end of ww 11. These newly emerged nations with the help of developed countries followed the path of development essential for the people to survive. In the same journey the also damaging the global environment but their share is negligible as compared to major powers. Policies of Economic development in newly emerged countries, leads to industrialization, agricultural development, overpopulation, urbanization and deforestation.
In this way, the causes of Environmental Degradation can be attributed to external and internal. Global warming has brought about drastic changes in the environment of world. Since the industrial and scientific revolutions, Earth’s resources are perpetually overexploited. Industrial revolution in European countries, USA and recently in China and other countries of Asia has enormously damaged the environment around the globe. The people of third world countries is paying price for the catastrophe of environment degradation, which they have never committed. The rapid industrialization, military and technological development, gasses, population explosion, pesticides, radiations, deforestation, garbage disposal or dumping of hazardous waste are the major factors responsible for environmental pollution /ED. The rapid unplanned economic and strategic developments taking place in Industrially Developed or major powers are main reason for ED in the world. According to the reports of United Nations Environmental Programme, they are mainly responsible for air, water, land and noise pollution and ED. Industrial smoke has added CO2, nitrous compounds and has reduced oxygen in atmosphere.

The Functions of War.
1. The Righting of wrongs and the enforcement of Rights. War throughout the ages has been used as an instrument for avenging injustice and for enforcing rights. War has helped in achieving freedom and safeguarding democracy. War helped American and Latin American people to get freedom from colonial powers. The French Revolution overturned a corrupt and autocratic monarchy. Lot of countries got independence in the wake of ww 11. Imperialism was buried all over the world.
2. Reconstruction and Modernization of political and social order. The important political changes and expansion of modern civilization of the modern world have been brought about by war. According to Prof Shotwell, “the map of the world today has been largely determined upon the battlefield”. The present modern and integrated Europe is the living result of the two great wars. Their political, economic and social order was constructed. In the words of Palmer and Perkins “war has been a chief maker of the modern world its states, its industries, its morality and its cultural pattern”.
3. Exaltation of Moral and Spiritual Qualities. War contributed to the achievement of higher moral and spiritual qualities. Honourable war is better than dishonorable peace. War arouses in man self-abnegation, self-sacrifice and other finer qualities which otherwise remain dormant.
4. Miscellaneous functions. War contributes to unity and peace at home. War has stimulated inventions and created a revolution in industrial and agricultural production. Following the 1971 debacle pak acquired nuclear capability and became the first nuclear Muslim state of world.
