A Green Transformation at Government Boys Elementary School Gharibabad, Sukkur
About a year ago, Headmaster Adil Ali Khokhar of Government Boys Elementary School Gharibabad, Sukkur, shared his vision with the school staff to transform the schoolβs small ground into a micro urban forest in response to the increasing heat and challenging environmental conditions of Sindh, particularly Sukkur.
Despite the rocky surface and infertile soil, the school administration remained determined to turn the ground into a green space. The staff and school community worked together, digging the soil and planting different varieties of saplings.
The results have exceeded expectations. Remarkably, not a single plant died. The saplings planted a year ago have grown into beautiful green trees, transforming the appearance and environment of the school ground.
Headmaster Adil Ali Khokhar said this is only the beginning and expressed his determination to expand this vision beyond the school premises and promote a wider culture of greenery and environmental awareness.
