The Center of Research for Business Management (CRBM), Department of Business Administration, Sukkur IBA University, successfully organized a one-day faculty development workshop titled “Teaching in the Age of AI: Mastering Prompt Engineering and Innovative Pedagogical Strategies” on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
The session was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed, Professor and Head of Department, and Dr. Muhammad Ismail Mangrio, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. Drawing on their expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, educational technology, and research, they provided participants with practical insights into the use of AI-powered tools in academic settings.
Faculty members from various departments participated in the workshop to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence in higher education and to enhance competencies for integrating AI into teaching and learning.
The workshop began with a welcome note by Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed Dakhan, Head of the Department of Business Administration, who emphasized the importance of equipping educators with emerging technological skills.
Prof. Dr. Syed Mir Muhammad Shah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Main Campus, Sukkur IBA University, graced the occasion and highlighted the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence in academia, encouraging responsible adoption of AI to enhance teaching, learning, and research while ensuring academic integrity and quality.
At the conclusion, Prof. Dr. Altaf Hussain Samo, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, delivered the concluding remaks and concluding remarks, appreciating the efforts of trainers, organizers, and participants and reaffirming the University’s commitment to continuous faculty development.
Dr. Raheela Haque, Head of CRBM concluded the session with a vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to all the stakeholders for materializing this interactive workshop and facilitating Faculty development on campus.
Participants appreciated the workshop for its practical relevance and expressed confidence that the knowledge gained would help them adapt to the evolving educational landscape.

We are pleased to share that Prof. Dr. Altaf Hussain Samo, Dean, Faculty of Management and Media Sciences, at Sukkur IBA University participated as a distinguished panel expert in the session titled “Faculty Capacity Building for AI-Enabled Higher Education” during the 13th Deans & Directors Conference 2026, organized by the National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.
The panel brought together leading academicians and experts from across the country to discuss strategies for strengthening faculty competencies and fostering the effective integration of Artificial Intelligence in higher education. We are proud to celebrate the achievement of Ms. Fathima Aska, a student of the BBA-Agribusiness Program jointly offered by Sukkur IBA University in collaboration with University of Agriculture Faisalabad.
As part of her final project in the E-Commerce course taught by Dr.Muhammad Muzamil Sattar, Fathima successfully launched an e-commerce startup in her home country, Sri Lanka, focusing on online fashion retail. She is now serving international customers and has started generating income on an international level through her global online venture.
Her entrepreneurial initiative reflects innovation, practical learning, and the growing impact of student-led digital businesses in international markets.

The Dean, Faculty of Management and Media Sciences, Prof. Dr. Altaf Hussain Samo along with faculty members from the Department of Business Administration, recently visited several local businesses as part of our commitment to strengthening industry-academia linkages and promoting grassroots innovation.
The visit included interactions with a cattle farm, cotton factory, meat processing unit, and traditional oil factory, where discussions focused on opportunities for growth, innovation, business revitalization, and entrepreneurial development within the local economy.
This initiative reflects our vision of connecting students from the BBA, BBA Agribusiness, BS Accounting & Finance programs with real-world business environments, enabling experiential learning while contributing to community and regional development.
