The SIAM Student Chapter at Sukkur IBA University recently organized a Seminar Series session, featuring Miss Nargis Abbasi and Mr. Abdul Salam, both from BS-Mathematics (7th semester), as facilitators.
The session commenced with Miss Nargis Abbasi, who delivered an insightful talk titled "The Brain Behind AI: Exploring the World of LLMs." Her presentation offered a deep dive into the functionality, applications, and transformative potential of large language models (LLMs). Attendees gained valuable insights into natural language understanding, text generation, and practical applications of tools like ChatGPT, building a solid foundation in this burgeoning field of AI.
In the second segment, Mr. Abdul Salam presented on "Bridging the Gap Between Vision and Language Through Machine Learning." His discussion highlighted the intersection of AI, computer vision, and automation, showcasing how machine learning models process visual data for tasks like image classification. Real-world applications, including facial recognition, medical diagnostics, and autonomous systems, were emphasized, illustrating the vast possibilities in this domain.
