Proud Moment for HANDS IDS
Our Rector, Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Abu Zar Wajidi, recently visited Times University Multan at the invitation of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sarfraz Muzaffar to conduct PhD viva examinations of three PhD scholars.
Dr. Wajidi was warmly welcomed by the Times University team at Multan Airport. Upon reaching the campus, he was cordially received by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sarfraz Muzaffar and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shaukat Malik and Registrar, Mr. Muhammad Ismail.
After the successfully conducting the PhD viva, Dr. Wajidi held a productive meeting with the Vice Chancellor and senior management. They exchanged valuable insights on current challenges in higher education, with a special focus on private sector universities. Both institutions agreed to strengthen their collaboration, expand joint initiatives, and increase the frequency of such academic partnerships in the future.
The visit concluded on a high note as the Vice Chancellor presented a beautiful memento to Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Abu Zar Wajidi in recognition of this meaningful engagement.

At the invitation of Dr. Syed Saifur Rehman, Director General of NIPA, Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed, Chairman of HANDS Welfare Foundation and Acting Chancellor of HANDS-IDS along with Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Abuzar Wajdi, Rector of HANDS-IDS Karachi, graced the event. We are delighted to share that Prof. Meritorious Dr. Abu Zar Wajidi, Rector of HANDS Institute of Development Studies (HANDS IDS), paid a courtesy visit to GC University Hyderabad and met Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor GC University, Hyderabad at his office.
The meeting was held in a warm and congenial environment, where both distinguished academicians exchanged valuable insights on various academic issues and the challenges currently faced by institutions of higher learning. The discussion also explored meaningful avenues for future collaboration, including faculty exchange programs, joint seminars, and guest speaker sessions.

Eid Millan Party 2026 Celebrated with Joy and Unity at HANDS & HANDS-IDS

In the spirit of Eid-ul-Adha, HANDS Welfare Foundation and HANDS Institute of Development Studies (HANDS-IDS) organized a vibrant Eid Millan Party on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026 at the beautifully decorated HANDS-IDS Auditorium. Staff members and students came together in a festive atmosphere filled with warmth, laughter, and the true essence of Eid, unity, gratitude, and celebration.
Every performance shone like a precious jewel in a beautiful necklace. The program opened with a soulful Recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a melodious Na’at, and the National Anthem. Mr. Maqbool Ahmed Rahu, Chief Executive Officer of HANDS Welfare Foundation, delivered inspiring Welcome Words that set a perfect tone of togetherness and motivation.
The event sparkled with outstanding performances including heartfelt poetry, lively Qawwali, drama, and fun games such as “Pass the Parcel” and “Dumb Charades”. Particularly memorable were the engaging News/Khabarnama presented by Dr. Zafar Iqbal Anjum and the captivating melodious song by Ms. Lydia Pervaiz, which received thunderous applause.
Special appreciation goes to the dynamic Masters of Ceremony Ms. Mehrin Farhan and Mr. Meer Keerio whose exceptional compering kept the entire program lively and engaging. Ms. Mehrin Farhan mesmerized the audience with her outstanding comparing skills, quick-witted banter, and sharp retorts that kept everyone fully involved and captivated throughout the evening. Mr. Meer Keerio, as a talented bilingual compere, brilliantly engaged the audience in both Urdu and Sindhi. He also enthralled everyone with his beautiful rendition of the Sindhi “Wayee”, showcasing excellent control over voice, pitch, and pronunciation.
Special praise also goes to the talented HANDS-IDS students, whose energetic and impressive performances in Qawwali, Drama, Dumb Charades, and other segments brought fresh vibrancy, creativity, and youthful enthusiasm to the celebration. Their active participation truly elevated the spirit of the event.
The celebration was further enriched with powerful remarks by Professor Meritorious Dr. Abuzar Wajidi, Rector-IDS, and presidential remarks by Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed, Chairman HANDS & Chancellor HANDS-IDS.
This Eid Millan Party beautifully strengthened bonds and created lasting memories. Heartfelt thanks to all performers, organizers, and participants who made this gathering truly special.

Career Ready: Powerful Session on Career Counselling & Resume Building at HANDS Institute of Development Studies

We are proud to share that a highly impactful one-hour seminar on “Career Counselling & Resume Building” was successfully organized by Ms. Mehrin Farhan Shaikh, Deputy Director Student Affairs, for our talented undergraduate students on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Renowned expert Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Ahmed Siddiqui — Founder & CEO of Target PRO Training & Consulting — delivered an energizing and practical session that left students inspired and better prepared for their professional journey.
The session kicked off with interactive self-assessment activities, helping students identify their strengths and aspirations. It then dived deep into smart career strategies — from discovering the right career paths aligned with market demand, exploring internships and job opportunities, understanding industry trends, to mastering networking skills and setting powerful short & long-term goals.
The highlight was the hands-on Resume Building workshop, where students learned how to craft winning resumes that stand out; including powerful structure, action verbs, quantifying achievements, tailoring for specific roles, and beating ATS systems.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Mehrin Farhan Shaikh. Prof (Meritorious) Dr. Abuzar Wajidi presented a souvenir to the guest speaker in recognition of his valuable guidance.

Another Proud Moment for HANDS IDS
On Thursday, May 21, 2026, a prestigious delegation of 28 senior officers and faculty members from the 46th Mid-Career Management Course at NIPA visited HANDS Institute of Development Studies. Led by Mr. Ghous Ali Shah, Chief Instructor NIPA (representing Director General Dr. Syed Saif ur Rehman), the group included Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Directors, and senior officials from federal, provincial governments, autonomous bodies, and public sector organizations.
Dr. Shaikh Tanvir Ahmed, Acting Chancellor HANDS IDS and Chairman HANDS Welfare Foundation, warmly welcomed the delegation and shared the inspiring journey of HANDS. Founded in 1979 by Prof. A.G. Billoo, HANDS has grown into one of Pakistan’s largest nonprofits, positively impacting 9.1 million lives last year and reaching 36.7 million people through impactful programs in Health, Education, Livelihood, WASH, Physical Infrastructure, and Disaster Management.
Prof. Meritorious Dr. Abu Zar Wajidi, Rector HANDS IDS, proudly showcased HANDS IDS as Pakistan’s only NGO-established chartered degree-awarding institute, recognized by the Government of Sindh and accredited by HEC. He highlighted our diverse academic programs including BBA, BS Nursing, MBA, MS degrees, upcoming BCS program, and PhD accreditation pursuit, along with our state-of-the-art facilities and strong commitment to ethical leadership and the core values of RAISE i.e. Responsiveness, Accountability, Integrity, Sustainability, and Excellence.
Mr. Maqbool Ahmed Rahu, Chief Executive of HANDS, gave a detailed presentation on the organization’s extensive operations, highlighting Integrated Health Services, public-private partnership in education, livelihood and food security initiatives, WASH programs, housing projects, and disaster management efforts.
Mr. Ghous Ali Shah expressed his amazement at the scale and quality of services offered by HANDS Foundation and the excellence of education at HANDS IDS. The visit featured an engaging Q&A session where HANDS IDS students actively participated, asking insightful questions about the CSS examination process. The program concluded with a graceful vote of thanks by Ms. Mehrin Farhan Shaikh, who hosted the proceedings beautifully. Souvenirs and Ajraks were presented to all guests.
