Appreciation Note
The Center for Rural Development Communication (CRDC) has shown commendable academic growth since the launch of the BS Development Communication Program, a four-year bachelor’s degree, in 2019. Over the years, four batches have successfully graduated, reflecting the Center’s dedication to academic excellence and its commitment to producing competent human resources for the development sector. With the induction of the upcoming 2026 intake as the 8th batch, the program will have nearly 250 active students, highlighting its increasing credibility and demand.
This significant academic milestone would not have been possible without visionary leadership and collective efforts. The BS Development Communication Program was initiated under the vision of Prof. Dr. Badar Soomro and was carefully designed and launched under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Bashir Memon, who was serving as Director of the Center at that time. The tireless academic and administrative contributions of Dr. Abdul Razaque Chhachhar, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Nizamani, Mr. Muhammad Siddique Soomro, myself, and the dedicated staff members of the Department of Media and Communication Studies played a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening the program.
Today, the success of the program is clearly reflected in the professional placement of its graduates, who are actively serving in the development sector, government departments, and the private sector. Their achievements stand as a testament to the relevance of the curriculum, collaborative teamwork, and the sustained commitment of CRDC to community-oriented and development-focused education. This collective effort truly deserves appreciation and recognition.
