Ladies Tailors of Bajara Started to Make Schools’ and Hospitals’ Uniforms

Marvi Vocational & Training Center-an initiative by Sindh Village Development Program (SVDP) in Village Bajara, Sehwan has started a project of Schools’ and hospitals’ uniforms. In this regard three private schools and Department of Maternal & New Neonatal child Health Care Program, Sayed Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical Sciences, Sehwan have agreed, and the stitches are being engaged to complete their first order in the Vocational Center at Bajara.

Fourth One Month Basic Training Course on Dress Making Started at Bajara

باجارا ۾ ڪپڙن جي سلائيءَ جو چوٿون بنيادي ڪورس شروع، مختلف ڳوٺن جون 10 ڇوڪريون شريڪ

Sindh Village Development Program is striving for the empowerment of rural women. In this regard, Marvi Vocational & Training Center has been established in the village Bajara, Taluka Sehwan where training events are conducted frequently. The fourth one month free basic course on measurement, cutting, stitching and designing has started there in which 10 young girls from three villages are participating. The resource person of the event is a local lady who has good experience and knowledge in the field of dress making. In this way 30 females have been trained in stitching so far. Besides, SVDP is providing transport to the trainees as well.

Learning Experiences: Female Stitching Workers of Bajara Visited Crafts Model of SRSO in Sukkur

Sindh Village Development Program (SVDP) is developing and strengthening collaborations and networks for integrated development in rural areas of Sindh. In this regard, an exposure visit of Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) Head Office in Sukkur was arranged wherein 15 stitching workers associated with Marvi Vocational and Training Center Bajara participated. They attended a meeting of female artisans in the village Bhirkan Taluka Shikarpur. Afterwards, they were given a presentation on Craft Enterprise Development (CED) Unit of SRSO. Further, the participants visited production center, warehouse and display center led by Mr. Riaz Jalalani, Manager and Ms. Suraya Agha, Senior Program Officer CED. The purpose of the visit was to learn from the best practices of SRSO and making working relationship regarding the crafts development. Thanks to SRSO management and Dr. Shereen Narejo for making that event possible.

Sindh Village Development Program is striving for the empowerment of rural women. In this regard, Marvi Vocational & Training Center has been established in village Bajara, Taluka Sehwan where trainings are conducted frequently. A one month free basic course on measurement, cutting, stitching and designing is being conducted in the Center wherein 17 young girls of three villages are participating. The resource person of the event is a local lady who has extensive experience and expertise in the field of garments.
