UGRAD CEBET Conference 2026 – Day 1 Concludes at The Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur
Undergraduate Research Conference on Commerce, Economics, Business, Education, and Technology

Shikarpur, April 29, 2026 — The Department of Commerce at The Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur successfully conducted **Day 1** of the prestigious **UGRAD CEBET Conference 2026**, an Undergraduate Research Conference on Commerce, Economics, Business, Education, and Technology. The conference will culminate tomorrow with its Closing Ceremony on **Day 2**, featuring parallel student research sessions.

The inaugural session was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar, Vice Chancellor of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development Khairpur, who formally inaugurated the conference by cutting the ribbon. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem, setting a dignified tone for the proceedings.

As a mark of cultural honor, Ajrak was presented to the Chief Guest, keynote speakers, panelists, and guests of honor.

The Conference Secretary, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Rajpar, delivered the welcome address, outlining the vision and objectives of the conference. This was followed by remarks from Prof. Dr. Riaz Hussain Soomro, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration and Commerce, who highlighted the importance of fostering a research-oriented academic culture at the undergraduate level.

The Patron-in-Chief of the conference, Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmad Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of The Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur, emphasized the university’s commitment to academic excellence and interdisciplinary research.

The event was further honored by the presence of distinguished Guests of Honor, including Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of University of Larkano, and Prof. Dr. Zahid Ali Channar, Chairman of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sukkur, who shared their insightful perspectives on the evolving role of higher education institutions.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar, underscored the critical role of universities in preparing future leaders capable of navigating the challenges of a digital and sustainable world.

A major highlight of Day 1 was the keynote session centered on the theme **“Shaping Future Leaders: The Role of Universities in the Digital and Sustainable Era.”** The first keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ali Meerani, Pro Vice Chancellor of IBA Institute of Engineering and Technologies Khairpur, who emphasized innovation, digital transformation, and skill-based education. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Salman Bashir, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Management and Business Administration at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Shaheed Benazirabad, highlighted sustainability, leadership, and the integration of technology in higher education.

The conference also featured a thought-provoking panel discussion with eminent scholars including Prof. Dr. Akhtiar Ali Ghumro and Prof. Dr. Samina Rajpar from Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur; Dr. Zafarullah Sahito, Dr. Ume Salma, and Dr. Ishfaque Ahmed Abbasi from Sukkur IBA University; and Dr. Arman Khanzada. The panel explored key challenges and opportunities in higher education, research, and innovation.

The session concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to keynote speakers and panelists, followed by a group photo session.

Day 1 of the UGRAD CEBET Conference 2026 concluded on a high note, setting the stage for Day 2, where undergraduate students will present their research in parallel sessions, followed by the Closing Ceremony.
