یوم الفرقان سے مراد 17 رمضان المبارک کا وہ دن ہے جب اسلام کا پہلا بڑا معرکہ، غزوہ بدر پیش آیا۔ قرآن مجید نے سورہ الانفال میں اس دن کو "یوم الفرقان" یعنی حق اور باطل کے درمیان فرق کر دینے والے دن کے نام سے پکارا ہے۔

پانچوں نمازیں اور ایک جمعہ سے دوسرا جمعہ (اور ایک رمضان سے دوسرا رمضان) ان گناہوں کے لیے کفارہ بن جاتے ہیں جو ان کے درمیانی عرصہ میں ہوئے ہوں، بشرطیکہ کبیرہ (بڑے) گناہوں سے بچا گیا ہو۔

جس بہترین دن میں سورج طلوع ہوتا ہے، وہ جمعہ کا دن ہے۔ اسی دن حضرت آدم علیہ السلام پیدا کیے گئے، اسی دن وہ جنت میں داخل کیے گئے اور اسی دن وہاں سے (زمین پر) اتارے گئے۔ اور قیامت بھی جمعہ ہی کے دن قائم ہوگی۔ صحیح مسلم
