Excellent performance of Heat and Stalk rot tolerant Yellow Maize Hybrid YH-5427 developed by the Germplasm maintenance and Hybrid Development Team (Khadim Hussain, Shahid Hussain, Aamer Ghani and Muhammad Irfan Yousaf) of Maize and Millets Research Institute, Yusafwala, Sahiwal, under the kind supervision of Dr. Muhammad Arshad (Director MMRI, Yusafwala, Sahiwal). This Hybrid have an outstanding ability to withstand high temperature and fairly resistant to stalk rot disease. Moreover, as seen in pictures, it remains lush green at harvesting, adding additional amount to farmer’s Wallet. This hybrid (YH-5427) have 18-20 rows of kernels and 38-44 kernels per row. These photos are taken from farmer field of Yusafwala region and we are hopeful to have 120-130 Munds/acre from this field, comprised of 4.5 acres.
