Raj Bukhsh Trust is a non-profit, charitable organisation working for the advancement of education, social uplift and better health of the people, particularly those from the deprived and weak sections of society. The Trust has no political, religious, racial or ethnic interests. Its sole objective is service of the people without distinction whatsoever. The area of its operation is the whole of P
akistan, but at present the Trust is working in Pind Dadan Khan sub division District Jhelum, which is situated about 150 KM south of Islamabad. This area is amongst the most neglected and underdeveloped parts of the country. The Trust will extend operations to other areas gradually. Raj Bukhsh Trust was founded by Brig (Retd) Muhammad Ashraf in 1992. The Trust is named after the founder's parents; Raj Bibi mother and Allah Bukhsh Father, which are also the names of common folk in the project area. The founder intended the trust to be a gift to the people, both women and men, with priority to women. The Trust Headquarters are located at Rawalpindi. The Trust is managed by a Board of Trustees comprising fourteen members. An Advisory Council of eminent persons and experts assists the Board. Funds are contributed by the trustees, council members, friends, philanthropists and the general public. As the Trust is a non-profit, charitable organization, it seeks assistance from individuals and donor agencies worldwide. Raj Bukhsh Trust is registered under the Trust Act 1882 and Government of Pakistan Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance 1961. The Trust is certified by Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (P*P) Islamabad.
