FJWU Team Visits Mehr Sharif Village to Promote Skill Development and Higher Education

As part of its ongoing community outreach initiative, a dedicated team from Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) visited Mehr Sharif village located on Chakri Road. The visit was designed to engage with underprivileged community members, assess their existing skills, and collect baseline data for future capacity-building and training sessions.

The outreach team was led by Dr. Adeela Rehman, Principal Investigator (PI) of the project. The team also included Dr. Aamir Arsalan and Dr. Afkar Majeed as Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs), and Ms. Maham Waqar, Research Associate. Their collective efforts focused on creating a dialogue with the local community, fostering trust, and encouraging educational aspirations among young girls.

During interactive sessions, faculty members engaged with residents to better understand their social and economic contexts. The team distributed FJWU admission brochures and open house information, emphasizing the importance of higher education and outlining available academic opportunities.

A key focus of the visit was to inspire local girls to consider pursuing higher education and to identify skill gaps within the community that could be addressed through future training modules. The community members, particularly women and youth, displayed enthusiastic participation and expressed keen interest in enhancing their entrepreneurial skills to better manage their economic resources.

This visit marks a significant step in the university's commitment to inclusive development, education, and empowerment. The outreach team plans to return with tailored training programs in the coming months, building on the positive momentum generated by this initial engagement.
