The seminar on “Freelancing and Its Importance” served as an informative and career oriented session for students. The session was conducted by our esteemed resource person Mr. M. Umar Sultan (MS Software Engineering, CEO of Innovaspark Ltd / Software Developer, Lecturer Department of CS/IT), who shared his professional experience and practical knowledge of the freelancing industry.
During the seminar, Mr. M. Umar Sultan highlighted the importance of freelancing in today’s digital economy and guided students on how skills can be transformed into sustainable income streams. The session also covered popular freelancing platforms and productivity tools that help freelancers manage clients, time, and projects efficiently.
Additionally, special emphasis was given to the effective use of LinkedIn as a professional networking platform. Students were guided on how to build meaningful professional connections, and leverage LinkedIn for career growth and global opportunities.
The seminar was highly interactive and motivating, equipping students with practical knowledge, digital skills, and confidence to step into the freelancing world. Such initiatives reflect the commitment to preparing students for modern, skill based careers in the digital era. 🌍💼

Science Society & Department of Zoology, Rawalpindi Women University successfully organized an informative seminar on “Eye and Eye Sight Care”highlighting the importance of maintaining eye health in today’s digital and academic lifestyle.
The seminar was honored by the presence of our esteemed resource person, Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ali from Alshifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi, who delivered an insightful and comprehensive talk on eye care, common eye-related issues, and effective preventive measures. The session focused on awareness regarding vision health, early detection of eye problems, and adopting healthy habits to protect eyesight.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ali for sharing his valuable expertise and to our respected organizers Dr. Samina Qamer (Chief Organizer) and Dr. Fareeha Ambreen (Event Organizer) from the Department of Zoology for their dedicated efforts in making this seminar successful.

The Department of Chemistry organized a seminar titled “Water Scarcity and Its Control” on 17th December to raise awareness about water conservation and sustainable management in Pakistan.
The event featured Ms. Asma Malik, CEO of the Council for Water Preservation and Lift Welfare Foundation, and Mr. Rafeeq Tahir, Patron-in-Chief of the Council and former Federal Secretary. They shared insights on sustainable water use, community awareness, and the role of academic institutions in addressing water challenges.
Faculty and students actively participated, engaging in an interactive question-and-answer session with the speakers. The seminar concluded with a shield distribution ceremony, where Prof. Dr. M. Zaman Ashraf, Head of the Department, honored the resource persons and appreciated the organizing team.
The seminar successfully highlighted the importance of water conservation and encouraged proactive involvement from students and faculty.

Today, the Science Society, Rawalpindi Women University, organized a seminar on Processing Techniques of Amniotic Membrane for Ocular Transplant.
Our resource person, Dr. Fareeha Ambreen (Department of Zoology), delivered an insightful talk highlighting the latest techniques used in eye injury treatment.

The Department of Chemistry organized its second pre-conference workshop on Hands-on Training on Analytical Tools in Chemistry on October 28, 2025. The resource persons were Dr. Muhammad Yousaf, Deputy Chief Scientist, PAEC, and Dr. Muhammad Ajmal, Assistant Professor, University of Education.
Participants received practical training on modern analytical instruments, including UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The sessions provided valuable insights into the principles, operation, and applications of these tools in chemical analysis and material characterization.
The event concluded with a shield and certificate distribution ceremony, marking the successful completion of the workshop.
