Blog # 6 : Surah Aal-e-Imran
Surah Aal-e-Imran, also known as "The Family of Imran," is the third chapter of the Quran. It is a Medinan surah that contains 200 verses and was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) after the Battle of Uhud.
The surah is named after the family of Imran, which includes the mother of Maryam (Mary), the mother of Prophet Isa (Jesus) in Islam. The surah talks about the relationship between Allah and his creation, the importance of following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the stories of the prophets, and the oneness of Allah.
One of the most famous verses in Surah Aal-e-Imran is verse 185, which states: "Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion."
The surah also emphasizes the importance of seeking knowledge and understanding, as Allah says in verse 7: "It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding."
Overall, Surah Aal-e-Imran is a powerful and thought-provoking surah that provides guidance for Muslims and encourages them to lead righteous and just life.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and it is considered the holiest month of the year for Muslims. It is during this month that the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the angel Gabriel. Muslims all around the world observe Ramadan by fasting from dawn until sunset, performing additional prayers, giving to charity, and practicing self-discipline.
The month of Ramadan is divided into three Ashra or stages, each lasting for ten days. The second Ashra of Ramadan is particularly significant and carries a unique message for Muslims. Let us delve into what the second Ashra of Ramadan entails.
The second Ashra of Ramadan is all about forgiveness. It is a time for Muslims to seek forgiveness for their sins and repent to Allah for any wrongdoing. This Ashra emphasizes the importance of being humble and asking for forgiveness. Muslims are encouraged to seek forgiveness not only for themselves but also for others. They should be forgiving towards those who have wronged them and strive to reconcile with others.
It is during the second Ashra that Muslims recite the supplication of seeking forgiveness called "Astaghfar." It is believed that reciting this supplication repeatedly during this Ashra can bring immense blessings and rewards from Allah. Muslims are encouraged to seek forgiveness during this time and make a conscious effort to improve themselves.
The second Ashra of Ramadan also highlights the importance of mercy and compassion. It is a time for Muslims to show kindness towards others and perform good deeds. Muslims are encouraged to help those in need, whether it be through donating to charity or volunteering their time to help others.
Additionally, the second Ashra of Ramadan serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining good relationships with others. Muslims are encouraged to reach out to their family and friends and strengthen their bonds during this time. They are reminded to forgive others and seek forgiveness to improve relationships and promote harmony within their communities.
In conclusion, the second Ashra of Ramadan is a time for Muslims to seek forgiveness and show compassion towards others. Surah Al-Falaq, also known as “The Daybreak” or “The Dawn,” is the 113th chapter of the Quran. It is one of the shortest Surahs in the Quran, consisting of only 5 verses. This Surah was revealed in Mecca, and it is part of the Juz’ Amma, which is the thirtieth and final Juz’ (part) of the Quran.
The name of the Surah is derived from the Arabic word “falaq,” which means daybreak or the time just before sunrise. This Surah is a prayer seeking Allah’s protection from the evil of all creatures, including supernatural beings like jinn and sorcerers.
The Surah begins with the words “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of Daybreak.” This verse emphasizes the importance of seeking refuge in Allah from all kinds of evil that may harm us, physically or spiritually. It teaches us that Allah is the only One who can protect us from harm, and seeking refuge in Him is essential for our well-being.
The following verses of the Surah specifically mention the evil that can come from certain creatures or situations. For example, verse two mentions the evil of “the one who whispers evil into the hearts of men,” referring to the whispers of Satan and his followers. Verse three mentions the evil of the darkness when it settles, which can be interpreted as the physical darkness of night or the spiritual darkness of ignorance or misguidance. Verse four mentions the evil of witches or sorcerers who blow on knots, which was a common form of magic in pre-Islamic Arabia.
Finally, in the last verse of the Surah, Allah declares that seeking refuge in Him is the best protection from all kinds of evil. He is the Lord of everything, and He alone has the power to protect us from all harm.
Surah Al-Falaq is a powerful prayer that reminds us of the importance of seeking Allah’s protection in our daily lives. It teaches us that evil can come from many sources, including supernatural beings and human actions. However, Allah is the only One who can protect us, and seeking refuge in Him is essential for our well-being.
In conclusion, Surah Al-Falaq is a short but powerful chapter of the Quran that reminds us of the importance of seeking Allah’s protection in our daily lives. *Ayatul Kursi Advantages and Benefits*
Ayatul Kursi is verse, 255 of Surah Al-Baqarah and the most beautiful ayat of the Qur'an. Surah Baqarah is the leader of the Qur'an and Ayatul Kursi is the leader of Surah Baqarah. In Ayatul Kursi there are 50 words and for each word there are 50 blessings and good in it. It was narrated that Abu Umamah said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi immediately after each prescribed Prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death.
Hazrat A'isha (RA) states that a person arrived in the court of Rasulallah (SAW) and complained that there is no Barakat (Blessings) in anything in his home. Rasulallah (SAW) said, “You do not recite Ayatul Kursi, whichever Food and Curry you will recite Ayatul Kursi on, Allah will give Blessings on that Food and Curry.
One who recites Ayatul Kursi every morning will be in the protection, safety of Allah until the night.
One who recites Ayatul Kursi every night before going to sleep will be in the protection, safety of Allah until morning.
If a person writes Ayatul Kursi on white paper and ties this to children neck, they will be safe from Shaitaan.
For those of our dear ones who have passed away, recitation of Ayatul Kursi & giving it as Hadiya to them gives them light (noor) in the grave.
Frequent recitation makes one's own death easy.
Before leaving home, if one recites it once, the Almighty has one group of Angels to come and protect you. If recited twice, 2 groups of Angels are assigned to do this. If recited 3 times Allah tells the Angels not to worry as the Almighty himself takes care of them. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has said: If one recites Ayatul Kursi before going to sleep, Allah will send an Angel to come and look after you and protect you till the morning. His home, family, and also neighbors will remain in safety until morning. When one is alone in the home, recitation of Ayatul Kursi and asking Allah to help will make you remain calm and you will not fear. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has said: When leaving home, if one recites Ayat ul Kursi Allah will send 70,000 Angels to do Istighfaar for him until he returns home, and upon his return Poverty will be removed from him. One who recites it after every prayer, their salaat will be accepted, they will remain in the safety of the Almighty and He will protect them.
